IIT Roorkee closed the GATE 2025 registration process on October 11, 2024. The GATE application form correction facility is now closed. The form corrections were available from Oct 31 to Nov 20, 2024. Read below to know more. 

GATE 2025 Application Form Correction

The GATE 2025 Application Form Correction Window is now closed. The form correction facility was available from Oct 31 to Nov 20, 2024. Candidates registered for the GATE 2025 exam were able to access the application correction facility at the GOAPS portal. The correction link was available at the GATE’s official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Candidates have to log in using their credentials to exercise the form correction within the specified time.

GATE 2025 registrations started on August 28, 2024. The last dates to submit the application form without late fees were October 3, 2024, and October 11, 2024, with a late fee of INR 500. IIT Roorkee conducted the GATE 2025 exam on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025.  

Q:   What is the GATE 2026 registration last date?
A:

The IIT Guwahati has released the GATE application form on August 28 at the GOAPS portal. The registration window is now active on the official website of IIT Guwahati GATE. The last date to apply has been revised to October 7 - without late fees. Incase, you've missed out the deadline, you can still submit the application form till October 13, but you need to pay a late fee during this timeline. 

Q:   How many exam centres can I choose while filling the GATE application form?
A:

Candidates can choose at least three exam centres while filling their GATE 2026 application form. The list of GATE exam cities (zone-wise) is available on the website. Besides that, it has to be noted that the three centres must be from the same zone. Thus, based on the availability, the centre will be allotted to the candidate for appearing the GATE 2026 exam. 

Q:   What is the last date to fill the choices in JoSAA counselling?
A:

The dates for JoSAA counselling 2026 choice filling will be announced once the result of JEE Main 2026 is declared. Candidates can fill choices only during the choice filling period. Also, candidates need to lock their choices before the last date.

Through JEE Advanced ranks, candidates can secure admission to BTech courses. With regards to the admission, the IIT Roorkee cutoff 2025 has been released for the first round by the institute. The cutoff was released for different categories under the All India quota. For the General AI category candidates, the cutoff ranks varied between 535 and 16596, for different BTech/Integerated BTech/BSc/BArch courses. The last date to register for GATE 2026 with late fees was October 13. For submission with late fees, the application form window  remained active from October 7 to October 13. The registration fee with late fees is as follows -

  • For female/SC/ST and PwD candidates, the fee is INR 1500
  • For all other candidates, including foreign nationals, the fee is INR 2500

The GATE exam is conducted once a year. The entrance test takes place on multiple dates and shifts for 30 test papers. For 2026, IIT Guwahati is conducting the exam on February 7, 8, 14, and 15.

No, a duplicate GATE 2026 admit card will not be provided at the test center. Candidates must carry their own admit card along with the mentioned documents and items to the GATE exam center. IIT Guwahati will release the GATE admit card on January 2.

Yes, candidates will get a scribble pad in the GATE exam 2026 to do the rough work. Candidates have to write their name and registration number on the scribble pad before using it. However, the rough sheet must be returned after the completion of the exam.

The barcode present in the GATE admit card 2026 carries the candidate's information. It is required for a faster verification process and fraud prevention. So, make sure it does not get tampered. Carry multiple copies in case your GATE 2026 hall ticket is torn or tampered.

Candidates who are appearing for the GATE exam must carry a valid ID proof along with a passport-size photograph, transperant water bottle, and pen (blue or black) along with GATE 2026 hall ticket. We advise to carry atleast two to three copies of admit card to the centre.
