How is WBJEE Rank Calculated? - The authority calculates the WBJEE rank based on the marks secured in entrance test. While preparing the WBJEE rank various factors are considered. Based on the student rank WBJEE merit will be prepared. Students whose name appears in the merit list will participate in the counselling process. How is GMR and PMR rank lists prepared in WBJEE?
A candidate's WBJEE rank is determined by arranging the scores of all the WBJEE aspirants in merit order. Based on the sections in WBJEE question papers followed by the marks obtained, two separate WBJEE merit lists are prepared by WBJEEB. Take a look at the following methods to calculate WBJEE Rank.

WBJEE Rank - GMR (General Merit Rank)
The GRM merit list for WBJEE is applicable for admission to engineering and architecture courses and also to the pharmacy courses at Javadpur University. Take a look at the below pointers to understand how WBJEE GMR rank is calculated?
- WBJEE GMR Rank will be prepared taking in consideration, the total score obtained by a candidate in paper I & paper II of WBJEE exam
- WBJEE rank shall be allotted to a candidate in descending order of the total marks scored in all the subjects
- In case of a tie, tiebreaking rules will be applicable
- A separate reserved category merit position will also be indicated for the respective category
- Counselling/allotment of seats/admission will be done basis the GRM WBJEE Rank only. Category ranks are for information purpose only.
- WBJEE Rank for reserved categories is generated on the basis of the candidate’s birth category. The information will be provided by the exam applicants while filling the WBJEE application forms
- Candidate’s category certificate will be used as a proof at the time of the document verification process of WBJEE counselling
WBJEE Rank – PMR (Pharmacy Merit List)
The PMR merit list for WBJEE Ranks will be applicable for admission to all Pharmacy courses except at Jadavpur University. Take a look at the below pointers to understand how WBJEE PMR rank is calculated?
- WBJEE PMR Ranks will be prepared on the basis of the score obtained by a candidate in paper II only.
- The WBJEE ranks will be allot5ed to candidates and listed in descending order of the marks obtained by candidates in paper II of WBJEE exam.
- In case of a tie, tiebreaking rules will be applicable
- WBJEE counselling and admission for pharmacy courses will be done through the WBJEE PMR rank only.
- A separate reserved category merit position will also be indicated for the respective category. However, the counselling and seat allotment process will be through the PMR rank list only. Category ranks are for information purpose only.

WBJEE Merit List
WBJEE merit list will be released by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board. On the basis of the exam merit list, candidates will able to take part in the WBJEE counselling process. Candidates can check the merit list online on the official website of the board. WB Board will also prepare a separate merit list for the below enlisted reserved category candidates.

The reservation of seats for reserved category candidates will depend upon the category of the participating institution. However, admission to such candidates will be given only if they have a valid proof of belonging to West Bengal. Candidates claiming admission under such cases will have to produce a valid category certificate during the WBJEE counselling.

Yes, WBJEE is required for Haldia Institute of Pharmacy admissions. Especially for BPharma programme. The institute may consider scores of NEET or other exams in some cases. Students can check the same with the institute.
