National Testing Agency has released JEE Main Answer Key 2026 Session 1. Candidates can check JEE Main Answer Key 2026 on the official website of the exam. To download answer key, candidates will need their login details. The facility to challenge JEE Main Answer key 2026 is now open until February 6.

Candidates who are not satisfied with answers provided by NTA in JEE Mains answer keys 2026 can submit their grievances online at JEE Main official website jeemain.nta.nic.in until February 6 (11:50 PM). Candidates also need to submit a proof supporting their claim while submitting their answer key challenge.

How to Challenge JEE Main Answer Key 2026: National Testing Agency has released the provisional JEE Main Answer Key 2026 Session 1. Candidates can now check JEE Main Answer Key 2026 on the official website of the exam. To download answer key, candidates will need their login details. The facility to challenge JEE Main Answer key 2026 is also available until February 6 (11:50 PM). Candidates who are not satisfied with the NTA answers in JEE Mains 2026 Answer key can submit their grievances online from website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates also require to pay the processing charges of INR 200/- per question.

The challenge of JEE Main answer keys will be accepted online only through link available on website by paying processing charges. Payment of the fee is to be made through a credit/debit card (non-refundable). Candidates should note that NTA’s decision on challenges shall be final and no further objections will be entertained.

To check the JEE Main 2026 answer keys, candidates have to:

  • Visit the official website of the exam
  • Login using your application number and password
  • Navigate to the “Answer Key for JEE Main 2026” tab
  • Enter the required credentials and submit  
  • The JEE Main 2026 answer key will be displayed on the screen

Q:   If a candidate has not participated in JoSAA counselling, will he/she be eligible to take part in CSAB counselling?
A: 

Yes, candidates who do not participate in the JoSAA counselling are eligible to participate in the CSAB counselling. Candidates must complete the CSAB counselling registration using JEE Main application number. After the registration process, the exam authorities will commence the document verification process. 

Q:   When will CSAB counselling start?
A: 

The CSAB special counselling will start on July 28.

Q:   What documents are required to participate in JEE Main counselling?
A: 

To participate in the JEE Main counselling, candidates will need to upload the following documents at the time of JoSAA registration. Class 10 mark sheet/certificate, Class 12 Certificate of category (if applicable), PwD Certificate (if applicable). After the seat allotment, while reporting to the institute, candidates will also need to submit documents like JoSAA seat allotment letter, JEE Main/Advanced admit card, Gap Certificate (if gap after class 12).

Q:   Is there any age limit to apply for JoSAA counselling?
A: 

The age limit will be applicable as mentioned in JEE Main/JEE Advanced brochure and official website. There is no seperate age limit criteria prescribed for JoSAA counselling.

How to Raise Objections/ Challenge JEE Main Answer Key 2026?

All the challenges against the JEE Main 2026 Answer Key will be accepted online until February 6. Follow the steps given below to challenge JEE Main answer keys online:

  • Visit the official website of the exam
  • Login using your application number and password.
  • Navigate to the “Challenge of Answer Key” tab
  • On clicking on the tab, candidates will have to select the question ID 
  • To challenge the question, they have to use any one or more of Option IDs given in next four columns by clicking check box.
  • Supporting documents have to be uploaded through ‘Choose File and Upload (all documents to be put in a single PDF file).
  • After clicking your desired option, candidates have to click on ‘Save your claim’.
  • All Option IDs that have been challenged will be available.
  • Click on ‘Save your claim and Pay Fee finally’.

After all the objections raised against the JEE Main final answer key are submitted, an expert committee will scrutinise the challenges submitted by candidates. If the committee agrees to the objections raised, they will release the JEE Main final answer keys based on the correct answers submitted by candidates for challenging questions in the JEE Main question paper.

JEE Main 2026 Exam Pattern

NTA has released the JEE Main 2026 exam pattern. The exam will comprise two sections – Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both sections will be of three hours duration. JEE Main Paper 1 and 2B will be held online, while Paper 2A will be held in offline mode.

Candidates seeking admission to BTech programs at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs will appear for JEE Main Paper 1. Aspirants are willing to seek admissions to BArch programs at NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs JEE Main Paper 2.

JEE Main Marking Scheme 2026

JEE Main 2026 consists of three papers - Paper 1 (BE/B.Tech), Paper 2A (BArch), and Paper 2B (BPlan). The JEE Main exam for B.E./B. Tech (Paper 1) will consist of three sections - PhysicsChemistry, and Mathematics consisting of 75 MCQs carrying 300 marks, and the test will be conducted online as a computer-based test. JEE Main Paper 2A will consist of 77 questions carrying 400 marks, and the BPlan paper will have 100 MCQs of 400 marks. JEE Main Paper 2 will be conducted online except the drawing section of Paper 2A, which is conducted offline.

For every correct answer, candidates will be awarded +4 marks in both Paper 1 & Paper 2. However, there is a provision for negative marking in the JEE Main exam. 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response.
