JEE Main 2020 Day-3: Only 57% candidates appeared for exam in West Bengal

JEE Main 2020: Around 57 per cent JEE Main candidates of West Bengal appeared in the exam on September 3. Due to heavy rain and inadequate transport facilities, most of the candidates couldn’t reach their respective exam centres in Kolkata and other cities said an NTA official.
Some students had to travel long distances on two-wheelers to reach the centres. As per the official data, the JEE main is being conducted at 15 centres across West Bengal. However, the combined percentage figure for all the 15 centres is not available.

As per the reports by the Ministry of Education, over 82 per cent of students appeared for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2020 across the country on the third day of the test. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting the JEE Main exam under strict precautions in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. The JEE Main started on September 1 and will continue till September 6.
One student said that he had to travel a distance of around 135 kilometres to reach his centre amid rains and waterlogging in several places. Another aspirant said that he had to spend nearly Rs 500 to reach the JEE Main exam centre by travelling in private buses which is three times the cost in usual days.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said that 75 per cent of the candidates in the state could not appear for JEE Main held on September 1.

Marksheet and Adhaar details must be matched. So you have to approach to 10th passing school with relevant documents. The school will submit the application to CBSE regional office for correction.

No. The JEE Mains emphasizes on deep knowledge and quote challenging with negative marking whereas KCET is moderately difficult which emphasizes on direct factual questions with no negative markings.

Yes. Students with valid JEE Main scores can apply for admissions through the WBJEE counselling. However, these students will be eligible for allotment only in the 10% approved seats offered by the self-financing colleges and institutes participating in the state-level counselling.

Yes the SRMJEEE paper pattern is similar to JEE Main however, the difficulty level is not equivalent to JEE main and the question paper is adjusted to moderate level difficulty level which will be easy for most students.
