MHT CET 2026 CAP Process: Complete Guide

MHT CET CAP 2026: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has started the MHT CET CAP 2026 process for admission to First Year BE/BTech and Integrated MTech courses. Through the Centralised Admission Process (CAP), eligible candidates will be allotted engineering seats in government, government-aided, university-managed, and private engineering colleges across Maharashtra.

Candidates can complete the online registration, upload documents, verify their candidature and participate in the counselling process as per the official schedule released by the CET Cell.

What is MHT CET CAP?

MHT CET CAP (Centralized Admission Process) is the counselling process conducted by the Maharashtra CET Cell for admission to undergraduate engineering courses after the MHT CET result is declared. Seat allotment is carried out through multiple CAP rounds based on the candidate’s merit rank, reservation category, preferences filled during option entry, and seat availability.

MHT CET CAP 2026 Eligibility

Candidates can apply for CAP if they meet the eligibility conditions prescribed by the CET Cell. Some of the key eligibility requirements include:

• Must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination.
• Physics and Mathematics should be compulsory subjects.
• Candidates should have secured the required qualifying marks.
• Maharashtra State candidates should have obtained a non-zero score in MHT CET 2026.
• All India candidates can apply through valid JEE Main scores. Preference is given to JEE Main candidates under the All India quota.

How to Register for MHT CET CAP 2026?

Candidates can complete the registration by following these steps:

• Visit the official MHT CET counselling portal.
• Register using the required details.
• Fill the online application form.
• Upload the required documents.
• Select either E-Scrutiny or Physical Scrutiny.
• Pay the application fee, if applicable.
• Submit and confirm the application form.
• Download the acknowledgement receipt after successful confirmation.

MHT CET CAP 2026 Application Fee

The application fee depends on the candidate category. Candidates who registered for MHT CET 2026 are not required to pay the registration fee. Candidates applying through valid JEE Main or NEET UG scores without MHT CET registration must pay the applicable fee online.

MHT CET CAP 2026 Document Verification

Candidates can complete document verification through either of the following modes:

• E-Scrutiny: Under this mode, candidates upload their documents online. The verification is completed digitally, and there is no need to visit a Facilitation Centre. If any discrepancy is found, the application is returned for correction through the candidate login.
• Physical Scrutiny: Candidates choosing this mode must visit their selected Facilitation Centre with original documents. After verification, the application is confirmed and an acknowledgement receipt is issued.

MHT CET CAP 2026 Merit List

The CET Cell will first release the provisional merit list on July 15, 2026. Candidates who find any error in their details can submit grievances between July 16 and July 18.
After reviewing all objections, the authorities will publish the final merit list on July 20, 2026. The merit list will be used for seat allotment in the CAP rounds.
