MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 4 Cutoff

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell will release the MHT CET CAP Round 4 cutoff 2026 after the declaration of the round 4 MHT CET seat allotment results. The cutoff will be available for candidates seeking admission to BE and BTech courses offered by participating institutes across Maharashtra.

Candidates can use the cutoff to check the admission competitiveness of different colleges and branches and assess their chances of securing a seat in the final CAP round.

MHT CET CAP Round 4 Cutoff 2026: What to Expect?

Round 4 is expected to see further movement in cutoffs as candidates who have already secured seats in earlier rounds either confirm their admission or move to other options. The availability of seats in individual institutes and branches will therefore play an important role in determining the final cutoff.

The Round 4 cutoff may be lower than the previous rounds for branches and institutes where seats remain vacant. However, popular branches such as Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence and related specialisations at highly preferred institutes can continue to have comparatively competitive cutoffs.

Candidates should not assume that every branch will witness a significant drop in the cutoff. The movement will depend on the number of vacant seats, candidates’ preferences, category-wise competition and the number of students participating in the final CAP round.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   Which college will I get with 97.5 percentile in MH CET?
A:

With 97.5 percentile in MHT-CET, you have a strong chance to get admission in reputed colleges like PICT Pune, VIT Pune, SPIT Mumbai, or Thakur College of Engineering for branches such as IT, ECE, or Electrical. COEP and VJTI may be difficult for CSE. Government colleges like WCE Sangli, SGGS Nanded, and GCOE Amravati are also good options. You can get preferred branches in private colleges and core branches in government ones. Your chances further improve if you belong to a reserved category or have home university advantage within Maharashtra.

Q:   What is the minimum cutoff required for admission to M.Tech at COEP?
A:

For the General HS category, the cutoff ranged from 4.33 to 20.54 percentile for M.Tech course specialisations. Therefore, students need to attain at least 4.33 percentile for admissions at COEP Pune. MHT CET M.Tech percentiles are required for admission to M.Tech courses at COEP, Pune.

Students should note that the above mentioned percentile is only valid for the General HS category in the last round. Other rounds and categories will have different minimum qualifying percentiles. To know more, students can click here

Q:   Can I take admission in D.K.T.E. Society's Textile and Engineering Institute for B.Tech. in Fashion Technology with 63.57% in MHT CET?
A:

With 63.57% in MHT CET, you do have a fair chance to get B.Tech in Fashion Technology at D.K.T.E. Institute, especially if you're in a reserved category or from the home state. Fill it in your CAP options and keep backup colleges too, just in case the cutoffs go higher this year

Q:   I scored 120 in MHT CET. Which college will I get? I belong to the general category.
A:

With 120 marks in MHT-CET (General category), you are unlikely to get top colleges/branches (like CSE/IT in COEP, VJTI) but can aim for mid-tier private/university-affiliated colleges in less competitive branches.

Details Mentioned in MHT CET CAP Round 4 Cutoff

The cutoff data can help candidates compare admissions across multiple parameters, including:

  • Institute name

  • Course/branch

  • Choice code

  • Category

  • Maharashtra State quota

  • All India quota, wherever applicable

  • Opening cutoff

  • Closing cutoff

  • Merit/rank details, where available

Candidates should select the correct category and quota while checking the cutoff because the closing percentile can vary considerably across different seat types.

MHT CET CAP Round 4 Cutoff vs Round 3 Cutoff

The Round 3 cutoff can be used as an important reference point while analysing the Round 4 cutoff. However, candidates should not treat the previous-round cutoff as a guaranteed predictor.

Round 4 is particularly important because the number of available seats becomes more limited after the earlier allotments. At the same time, vacant seats at several institutes can result in additional movement in less preferred branches. Candidates who are participating in Round 4 should therefore consider both the previous cutoff and the Round 4 vacancy position before finalising their choices.

What If Your MHT CET Percentile Is Below the Round 4 Cutoff?

Candidates whose percentile is below the closing cutoff of a particular college or branch should not immediately rule out admission. Cutoffs can vary depending on the category, quota and availability of seats.

Students should check:

  • Other branches in the same institute

  • Other institutes offering the preferred branch

  • Category-wise cutoffs

  • Vacant seats after CAP Round 4

  • Institute-level admission opportunities, wherever applicable

The CET Cell has also issued a notice regarding admissions against seats remaining vacant after the CAP rounds, indicating that candidates may have options beyond the centralised rounds depending on the applicable rules and vacancies.

MHT CET CAP Round 4 Cutoff 2026: What Candidates Should Do Next?

Once the Round 4 allotment and cutoff are available, candidates should compare their percentile with the closing percentile of their preferred colleges and branches. Those who receive an allotment should carefully follow the seat acceptance and reporting instructions issued by the CET Cell.

For candidates who do not secure their preferred choice, the vacancy position should be checked before considering further admission options.

The MHT CET CAP Round 4 cutoff 2026 will provide the final benchmark for understanding admission trends across Maharashtra engineering colleges. Candidates should rely on the official CET Cell cutoff data rather than unofficial predictions when making their final admission decisions.

It is important to check the MH CET 3-year LLB marks versus percentile. This is because college admissions are based strictly on your final percentile rank rather than your raw score.

With a 51 percentile in MHT CET you might have limited options for top-tier engineering programs. Since you already possess a specialized, high-value professional course, so I think repeating an engineering/technical entrance exam to join a lower-tier private college will take you a step backward.

Sorry, but according to me with 96.09 percentile in MHT-CET through PCB, you cannot get admission to ICT for B.Tech Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology. The cuttoff competitively closes around 99.0 to 99.9 percentile.
