The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra will announce the MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 1 seat allotment result on August 2 for admission to BE/BTech courses offered by participating engineering institutes across the state. The allotment will be released online on the official CAP portal.

MHT CET 2026 Seat Allotment Result

The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra will announce the MHT CET 2026 CAP Round 1 seat allotment result on August 2 for admission to BE/BTech courses offered by participating engineering institutes across the state. The allotment will be released online on the official CAP portal and will be prepared based on the candidate’s merit rank, category, reservation, option form preferences and seat availability.

Candidates who are allotted a seat in Round 1 will have to log in using their application credentials to check the allotment status. After downloading the allotment letter, candidates must complete the online seat acceptance process within the prescribed deadline to remain eligible for admission. As per the official schedule, candidates can accept their allotted seat and report to the allotted institute from August 3 to August 5, 2026.

The CET Cell prepares the seat allotment using multiple parameters, including:

  • Inter-se merit rules wherever applicable

What After MHT CET Seat Allotment?

After checking the allotment result, candidates need to:

  • Accept the allotted seat online.
  • Pay the applicable seat acceptance fee.
  • Download the acknowledgement.
  • Report to the allotted institute with original documents.
  • Complete admission formalities before the deadline.

Failure to complete these steps within the notified timeline may result in cancellation of the allotted seat.

Can Candidates Participate in Further CAP Rounds?

Yes. Candidates who are not satisfied with their allotted seat or are not allotted any seat in Round 1 can participate in the subsequent CAP rounds by submitting fresh option forms according to the counselling schedule. Seats remaining vacant after Round 1 will be made available in the next counselling rounds.
