NMDC Recruitment through GATE 2026:Eligibility criteria
NMDC has set a criterion for recruiting candidates through GATE 2026, Candidates must fulfil the given criteria ,such as age, education and other factors to be eligible for participation in the recruitment process.
Maximum Age for the post of executive trainee has been set 27 years, however special quota students can get age relaxation based on GOI norms.

Candidates must possess the minimum education qualification required for NMDC Executive trainee recruitment as per the NMDC requirements. Candidate must have either of the following educational qualifications.
There is no ideal time to start the GATE preparation. Start early (from the first year itself). It is mainly because your bachelor's topics and chapters have the most weightage in the GATE question paper. The topics that are taught in your third year are the backbone. If you are clear with the fundamentals and concepts (taught in classes), then you do not require extra time to prepare for GATE. Just revise and practice questions. That's enough.
So, start preparing for GATE right from the first year. Your brain is fresh with the concepts and formulas, thus making it easy to solve the questions and prepare for the exam.
GATE CSE exam will take place on February 8 in two sessions. CS 1 and 2 shift timings are-
- Forenoon - 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
- Afternoon - 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
No, physical calculators are not allowed inside GATE exam hall. Candidates will be provided with a virtual calculator to solve their questions. It is advised to practice using GATE calculator to improve accuracy.

NMDC Recruitment through GATE 2026:Application process
Students must keep the soft copies of all the required documents before applying for the NMDC recruitment through GATE 2026. The list of required documents is mentioned below.

- Educational qualification certificate: 10th,12th, and degree certificate.
- Caste/Disability certificate (if required)
- Recent passport-size colour photograph
- Signature scanned copy.

Application form filling steps:
- Visit NMDC official website: www.nmdc.co.in
- Click on three horizontal lines and pick “career” tab
- Click on apply online *(once executive trainee post online window is open)
- Fill in all the required details and upload required documents.
- Pay the application fee using given payment gateways (UPI/Net banking/ Cards)
Candidates will have to provide the details, such as name, email, and certificate numbers, very carefully. If any information is mismatched during the document verification candidature will get cancelled. The candidate can check the details to be filled:
After filling up the application form, Candidates need to pay an application fee of INR 500. However, SC/ST/PwD and Departmental candidate are exempted from this fee. NMDC Executive trainee application fee amount is nonrefundable in every scenario whether candidates get selected or not. After paying the application fee, candidates can submit the application form. Candidates must pay the fee otherwise, their form will be considered completed and they will lose their candidature status.
NMDC Recruitment through GATE 2026: Selection process
NMDC executive trainee recruitment will be 3 tier selection process. GATE-qualified candidates will be invited to apply for the vacant posts as per their respective disciplines. NMDC will release a list of shortlisted candidates based on GATE scores.
All shortlisted candidates will be called for the next round of personal interview and group discussion. It is mandatory to qualify in a personal interview; else they will fail to secure a post solely based on the GATE score. All three stages of selection carry different weightage

NMDC Recruitment through GATE 2026: Salary & Employment Benefits
NMDC will recruit candidates for the post of technical executive trainee, after completion of a specific training period, trainees will be designated as assistant managers with good pay scale. Post training candidates will be entitled for 60000 to 180000 Rs. per month basic pay and other employment benefits are listed below for reference:

Candidates need to graduate from BTech at IIT Dhanbad with a minimum GPA of 8.0 or above to qualify for M.Tech admissions without GATE. Only the candidates who clear BTech from IIT Dhanbad are allowed admissions without GATE into M.Tech at II Dhanbad with the aforementioned score.
