The Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, will be conducting the GATE 2026 exam. The dates are OUT now. IIT Guwahati last conducted the GATE exam in 2018. Candidates who want to apply for M.Tech or any research programmes can apply for GATE. The application window is available till October 7 without late fees (revised), till October 13 (with late fee) and the exam will be conducted on February 7, 8, 14, and 15.

NMDC has set a criterion for recruiting candidates through GATE 2026, Candidates must fulfil the given criteria ,such as age, education and other factors to be eligible for participation in the recruitment process.
Maximum Age for the post of executive trainee has been set 27 years, however special quota students can get age relaxation based on GOI norms.

Candidates must possess the minimum education qualification required for NMDC Executive trainee recruitment as per the NMDC requirements. Candidate must have either of the following educational qualifications.
- Bachelor's degree of engineering or technology: passed/ Appearing in last semester*(those who are in last semester must present their passing certificate during group discussion round.)
- Master's degree of engineering or technology: passed/ Appearing
- Integrated degree of engineering / Technology: Passed/Appearing
- All qualification degree must be certified by UGC or AICTE
- Candidates should have a minimum score of 60% in their bachelors. (OBC/Departmental candidates gets 5% relaxation & SC/ST/PwD candidates gets a 10% relaxation in marks)

GATE scorecard 2026 is valid for three years, which means the scorecard can be used till 2029. Candidates can download their scorecard using their enrollment ID and password. It can be used for MTech, PhD, Research work admissions and PSU recruitment.

Students must keep the soft copies of all the required documents before applying for the NMDC recruitment through GATE 2026. The list of required documents is mentioned below.

Candidates will have to provide the details, such as name, email, and certificate numbers, very carefully. If any information is mismatched during the document verification candidature will get cancelled. The candidate can check the details to be filled:
After filling up the application form, Candidates need to pay an application fee of INR 500. However, SC/ST/PwD and Departmental candidate are exempted from this fee. NMDC Executive trainee application fee amount is nonrefundable in every scenario whether candidates get selected or not. After paying the application fee, candidates can submit the application form. Candidates must pay the fee otherwise, their form will be considered completed and they will lose their candidature status.
NMDC Recruitment through GATE 2026: Selection process
NMDC executive trainee recruitment will be 3 tier selection process. GATE-qualified candidates will be invited to apply for the vacant posts as per their respective disciplines. NMDC will release a list of shortlisted candidates based on GATE scores.
All shortlisted candidates will be called for the next round of personal interview and group discussion. It is mandatory to qualify in a personal interview; else they will fail to secure a post solely based on the GATE score. All three stages of selection carry different weightage

NMDC will recruit candidates for the post of technical executive trainee, after completion of a specific training period, trainees will be designated as assistant managers with good pay scale.
