IIT MTech COAP Cutoff 2026: IIT MTech Admission Cutoff (All Rounds)

COAP Cutoff 2026: Candidates can check cutoff for all IITs that participate in COAP counselling 2026. This year, IIT Roorkee is conducting COAP counselling. The GATE exam result was declared on March 19. Candidates can check their GATE 2026 result using their enrollment ID and password.
IIT Roorkee started COAP 2026 counselling registration. The official website is coap2026.iitr.ac.in. The dates have been released, and the COAP 2026 round 1 counselling will begin on May 11. All IITs offer MTech seats to the GATE-qualified candidates via the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). Candidates can check and accept offers using COAP. After each round, IITs will update the GATE 2026 admission cutoff on their official website. It is mandatory to register on the portal to generate COAP ID. Factors Affecting IIT MTech COAP 2026 Cutoff
The GATE COAP cutoff for admission is done based on different factors. Candidates can check below what are the deciding factors before releasing COAP cutoff for each round-

Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP)
COAP is conducted for admission to MTech courses offered by IITs. Depending upon the selection process, some participating Institutes may skip, some offer release window(s), and offers may be released in subsequent window(s). Further, some institutes may operate additional round(s). The procedure followed for offers will be described on the respective institute's website for extra rounds.

GATE Cutoff Trends for COAP IIT MTech admissions -
The COAP is responsible to offer admission to MTech courses in IITs. After the declaration of GATE exam results, many IITs start registration process on their respective websites. As per the previous year's cutoff trends, it is observed that -
- A GATE score of 650+ is considered safe to get admission to IITs.
- For top branches and disciplines, such as CSE, ECE, EE, ME, and CE, a GATE score of 750+ has higher chances of getting admission.
- For category-applicants, GATE score above 400 to 550+ can be considered safe for admission to IITs.
- For top IITs like IIT Bombay and IIT Madras, candidates must at least secure 65+ marks.

Yes, candidates with GATE score of 400 to 500 are also eligible for COAP counselling. However, admission and selection chances completely depends on different criteria such as branch selection, competition level, category, etc.

CGPA is different for each category. For General/EWS and OBC-NCL category, the required CGPA is 6.5 on a 10-point scale, which is 60%. While, for SC/ST and PwD, required CGPA is 6.0 on a 10-point scale, which is 55%.
