Admission to BTech MIT Manipal is based on a mandatory entrance test, i.e., Manipal Entrance Test MET followed by online/physical counselling sessions. This exam is conducted every year in 3 phases. Interested students need to qualify the exam with valid scores in order to get admission. The total fee for the BTech course ranges between  8.1 L & 13.5 L. Aspirants cannot get direct admission at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. Candidates need to pass specified national or state-level entrance exam for admission. The seats are allotted via state-level counselling or institute-level admission process.

Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Sivasagar eligibility is fairly simple. Students have to meet the basic eligibility to get admission in the institute. The eligibility for the flagship Diploma course is as below:

• Class 10 with a minimum of 60% or above for Gen/ OBC/ EWS categories and a minimum of 55% or above for SC/ ST/ PwD

Honestly, Thapar is a good private engineering college, but it does come at a cost.

For B.Tech, the total expense for 4 years (including tuition + hostel) usually goes around ₹28–35 lakhs, depending on your branch and accommodation. It's on the higher side compared to many colleges, so budgeting is important.

As for faculty, most professors are qualified (many with PhDs), and academics are taken seriously. Teaching quality is generally considered good, especially in core branches like CSE, ECE, and Mechanical. Like any big university, experiences can vary by department and individual professor.

If fees aren't a major constraint and you get a good branch, Thapar is considered a solid option.

SET is a national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to various undergraduate courses. SET 2026 will be conducted in the computer-based test mode. The difficulty level of the SET exam is usually easy to moderate. But, a few questions might trick your mind and can be time-consuming.

General Knowledge and Analytical and Logical Reasoning are easier than the Quantitative Aptitude section. In 2025, according to the students who appeared for the SET session 1 exam, the SET exam was moderate. The General English section was the easiest of all four sections. The Quantitative Aptitude section was the toughest, and the other two sections were moderate to easy. The overall difficulty level of the SET question paper was moderate. Students who appeared for the SET 2025 session 2 exam said that the overall difficulty level was easy. Again, the General English section was the easiest. In this session, the Analytical and Logical Reasoning section was also easy to moderate. The Quant section was easy to moderate, and the General Knowledge section was difficult.
