GAT B MSc (Agri.) Biotechnology & MVSc Counselling 2026 Seat Allotment: Check Dates, Fees & Procedure

The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is responsible for result announcement and counselling for GAT-B exam. Candidates can check detailed guideline of how admission and counselling process is conducted for Graduate Aptitude Test in Biotechnology -

• First, authorities will display result on the website of Department of Biotechnology and Regional Centre for Biotechnology. The official website for GAT-B is dbtindia.gov.in and rcb.res.in
• Once the rank card is made available, students have to download their GAT-B scorecard from dbt.ntaonline.in. The scorecard can be downloaded only from NTA official website only.
• RCB, then displays list of participating universities and institutions. Based on the list displayed, students have to contact the respective DBT PG Program Coordinator regarding admissions related formalities and queries. 

GAT-B 2025 Counselling Process

Candidates can refer to the GAT-B counselling process from below. 

• After the GAT-B merit list is drawn, more than double the number of candidates than the total intake will be informed of their merit rank in the entrance examination. The candidates will also be informed about the seat intake in each participating University. The candidates will be asked to exercise their options through online mode for joining the Universities. 
• Authorities releases GAT-B dates for counselling along with result.

• Before the candidate chooses the GAT-B 2025 counselling option, the aspirant is advised to check the eligibility criteria as prescribed by the university. 
• If a candidate does not exercise their options for joining any participating universities, they will not be considered for GAT-B admission. 
• After the GAT-B counselling seat allotment, participating institutes will inform the candidates about their university allotment and also to the participating university to which the candidate has been selected. 
• Candidates can check the university's allotment on the institute's website. 
• The participating university will then inform the candidate about the complete admission procedure and schedule for their MTech biotechnology prospectus.  

• Candidates may note that requests for transfer from one university to another will not be entertained under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates are advised not to make any requests in this regard. 

Candidates need to carry following documents at the time of counselling process of GAT-B.  

• Two self-attested copies of the Matriculation, Higher Secondary Pre-University of Indian School Certificate or Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an equivalent examination certificate, showing the age/date of birth of the candidate 
• A Character Certificate from the Head of the Institution last attended 

• Two self-attested copies of the statement of marks obtained by the candidate in Senior School, Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s Degree examination etc.; or their equivalent examination 
• Two self-attested copies of the Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree 
• SC/ST/OBC/EWS Certificate, if belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS category 
• A Medical Certificate for PWD Candidates certifying that the disability is not less than 40 per cent 
• Migration Certificate (in original) from the Head of the Institution/University last attended: 

National Testing Agency announced the GAT-B result online at the official website. Applicants appearing in the exam were able to check their GAT-B 2025 result through application number and password/date of birth. Applicants declared qualified based on results were called for the GAT-B counselling 2025. The result was released in the form of scorecard.
