NSO Exam Pattern 2025: Know Marking Scheme & Exam Duration

NSO Exam Pattern 2024-25: Students must go through the entire NSO exam pattern 2024-25 and also the NSO Syllabus 2024-25 and make a time table. They must divide enough time for each section for effective studying. Students can also refer to the NSO Preparation to know the right approach on how to tackle the science olympiad.
For classes 1 to 4, a total of 35 questions are asked and the time duration is one hour. While for classes 5 to 12, a total of 50 questions are asked and the total time duration remains the same, that is one hour. The medium of the NSO exam is English. NSO is conducted during school hours only.

According to the NSO exam pattern 2024 level 1, the question paper consists of three sections:

For Class 1 to Class 10

• Section 1: Logical Reasoning
• Section 2: Science
• Section 3: Achievers Section

For Class 11 and Class 12

• Section 1: Physics/Chemistry
• Section 2: Achievers Section
• Section 3 : Mathematics/Biology
