Applied Psychology is a study of Psychology, which focuses on the principles, concepts and theories to solve human problems, experience in every field. The main focus of applied psychology is to apply research to work to identify design solutions for individuals and organisations, to help clients with problems faced in their everyday lifestyle. Applied psychologists help people resolve their emotional distress, disorders and illness. There are various branches under applied psychology where principles, theories, concepts, strategies are applied in areas such as family, health, school, colleges, clinics and many more areas.

The branches under Applied Psychology are as follows:

Clinical Psychology

These psychologists work directly with patients to diagnose and treat mental and behaviour problems such as anxiety, depression and other disorders.

Organisational Psychology

Professionals in this field use psychological techniques and strategies to help companies become productive.

Forensic Psychology

Psychologists use their skills in the use of Law and to support the justice system. Psychologists study the mind and behaviour of criminals and what leads them to make such actions.

Sports Psychology

Here the psychologists are a part of the game, only helping players familiar with the mechanics of the sport and nutrition so that players are fit mentally and have better strategies on the field.

BA in Psychology

3-Years

The candidate should have done their Class 12 from any discipline from a recognised board and should have secured a minimum of 45%.

BSc Psychology

3-Years

The candidate should have done their Class 12 in Science stream from a recognised board and should have secured a minimum of 45%.

MA In Applied Psychology

2-Years

The candidate should have done their BA or BSc in Psychology as a major or minor from a recognised University and should have secured a minimum of 50%.

MSc Psychology

2-Years

The candidate should have done their BSc in Psychology as a major or minor from a recognised University and should have secured a minimum of 50%.

MPhil in Applied Psychology

2-Years

The candidate should have done their MA or MSc in Psychology from a recognised University and should have secured a minimum of 55%.

PhD in Applied Psychology

2-Years

The candidate should have done their MA/MSc/MPhil in Psychology from a recognised University and should have secured a minimum of 60%.

Applied Psychology Admission Process

Chose University/College: The first step a candidate should make is to search for colleges or universities which are offering courses in Applied Psychology. Check the fees, the seats offered, eligibility criteria which is set for the course.

Apply for Course: Proceed to apply for admission after getting to know the university offering the programme. Fill up the details as required and pay the application fee. The application forms are available for a limited period of time so the candidate is advised to know the details way in advance.

Mode of Admission: Universities and Colleges will either conduct entrance exams for admission or offer admission through merit. For postgraduate courses, the candidate will have to appear for an entrance exam.

Results: Selected and qualified candidates make the merit list. The student has to get the desired rank and percentage, to be eligible for admission.

Counselling: The candidate will have to appear for the counselling session conducted at the university to book their seat, submit their documents and pay the fees to seal admission.
