Mathematical Psychology is a branch of Psychology which is based on mathematical modelling and is the study of behaviour through a mathematical lens. Through Science, Mathematical Psychology attempts to predict behaviour by applying statistics and mathematical formulas which are based on perceptual, thought, cognitive and motor processes. In simple terms, a mathematical approach is used with the goal of deriving a hypothesis which is exact and accurate. It was through Kepler and Galileo’s research which is drawn back to the 17^th century when the laws of the mental process were being investigated.

The development and testing of quantifiable theories of human behaviour is the main task of mathematical psychologists. Applications of mathematics in Psychology are classified in two areas:

• Statistical approach of quantitative measurement practices in psychology which leads to psychometrics.
