CLAT 2018 College Predictor tool of Shiksha offers multiple features to students like courses & colleges in which they can secure admission. Go through step-by-step guide on how to use this tool here.

CLAT is one of the most popular law entrance exams conducted in India. And why is this so? Well, Common Law Admission Test or CLAT is the gateway through which aspirants are shortlisted for admission in the National Law Universities (NLUs) of India.

CLAT exam dates are such that the entrance test is scheduled to be conducted on May 13, 2018 and the result for the exam is expected to be declared on May 31. Right after CLAT result is declared, candidates need to take part in the counselling round. Only candidates who meet the cutoffs for this law entrance exam are eligible to take part in the centralised CLAT counselling process. As part of this admission round aspirants need to submit all the important documents and also pay their admission fee.

For this law entrance exam, each year more than 50,000 students register to fill around 2,292 UG seats and 662 PG seats. Thus, going by these numbers it is evident that there is a lot of competition among aspirants who want to get shortlisted for admission basis their CLAT score/rank.

By means of Shiksha’s College Predictor Tool for CLAT, aspirants can find out the colleges in which they are likely to be offered admission on the basis of their CLAT ranks. Apart from this, the tool also offers aspirants information about cut-offs for the colleges in which they are eligible for admission. The college predictor tool provides all these details to aspirants on the basis of their CLAT ranks.

In this article, candidates would be offered a step-by-step guide on how to use the CLAT 2018 College predictor tool:

Step 1: Click on the CLAT 2018 College Predictor Tool link

Step 2: Enter your rank/merit number

Step 3: Next, select your category. The broad categories from which you can select are:

  • Open
  • Backward Classes (BC)
  • Scheduled Caste (SC)
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST)

Step 4: There is a field that states “Select Preferred Colleges”. A point to note is that this is an optional field. In this field, you can select as many college as you want.

Once you select details in the above mentioned fields then you need to click on the ‘Show Results’ button. As soon as you click on this button you will be provided details of the colleges in which you are eligible for admission. The information offered to you would include the name of the college, course, location, related articles and closing rank/CLAT cut-off for admission. Apart from this, you would also be provided with an option to download the brochure and read reviews of your preferred college.

You can also filter your search further by selecting your law branch, location of college or the name of the college. These filters are reflected on the left hand side of the list of colleges displayed for you.

CLAT 2018 College Predictor Tool helps to Compare Colleges

Another feature that you can use in Shiksha’s CLAT 2018 College Predictor Tool is that you can compare Colleges. To compare colleges, you need to check the box mentioned next to the text ‘Add to Compare’ mentioned with the name of each college. At any given time you can compare a maximum of four colleges. In order to compare colleges, you need to first of all select the colleges for compare and then click on the ‘Compare’ button that is present at the bottom of the page. You can compare a maximum of four law colleges at a time.

You should understand that once you opt to get out of the counselling process you can not go back. You will get option to either freeze your seat or choose to let it go and participate in next round. You can anytime exit the whole process too.

There is no restriction as such for the CLAT exam. Thus, one can give CLAT any number of times they want to. Candidates should not feel bad if they are not able to clear the CLAT exam in first time.

No you can not get admission to 24 participating NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam. For admission to NLU Delhi, you need to clear AILET Exam.
