Scored less marks than you had expected in CLAT 2020? Feeling the pressure or are disappointed? Here’s how you can deal with this situation.

We all know that Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is known for throwing surprises which surely bother students in a harsh manner. Known to be unpredictable, apart from hard work, it also requires some discipline along with consistency in their preparation which only a few students apply in their preparations and crack the examination smartly.

But what if you have given the exam and your CLAT score is low or below your expectations? Let’s discuss some important things you could do about your career now:

The first question which almost all the students confront after getting fewer marks than the expectations that Whether to drop a year or not. I think this is a very generic question and should be asked if you are a little concerned about your future. So let’s subdivide these questions into two categories:

Explore colleges based on CLAT

Bangalore
₹13.45 L
Hyderabad
₹7.75 L
Gandhinagar
₹6.00 L
Bhubaneswar
₹8.50 L

In the first scenario, you may not want to take the risk and drop one year. In such a scenario, you are open to taking admission to some private law college along with that you also start your preparation for next year’s CLAT. That’s great, you have not lost hope and still want to give one more chance to yourself and is willing to write CLAT again.

But this time you have to be more punctual regarding your preparation and be sincere towards your exam. You have to give at least five hours per day for your preparation besides your college or coaching time. You have to introspect all the previous mistakes which you did last time. You have to be stubborn towards cracking your examination. Thus, it will help later that even in a worst-case scenario if again you fail to crack the examination then, it will not waste your one year because you already had taken an admission last year. It might benefit you and you can continue your study.

In the second scenario, let’s suppose, you have taken a drop. It means you have to give you more than 100 percent towards the upcoming exam because now you cannot afford to take a drop for another year. Let bygones be bygones, don’t think about your previous mistake and repent on it. Instead, learn from those mistakes and give at least eight hours towards your study because now you don’t have to do anything else except for writing the CLAT next year. You have to left no stones unturned towards your preparation and give 100 percent towards your exam and crack it.

Even if there is any case that still you couldn’t crack this exam, then I would suggest you move on and take admission in some college because sometimes what happens something bigger is waiting for you in the future and you have to accept that.

The second question which may arise in your mind that what about the other best colleges one can get apart from NLUs?

I think this is also a valuable question and remember NLUs are not only great or brilliant institutions that if you are not able to go to any NLUs, then there is no life. There are really good law colleges which are even better than NLUs like Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) in Sonepat, Haryana. Their faculty is much more qualified than some of the NLUs. They are really good at academics, mooting, infrastructure wise, etc. apart from that, there is Symbiosis Law School (SLS) at Pune, Noida, Hyderabad. They are also growing day by day and getting their status to the next level. There is Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai, Bhartiya Vidya Peeth (BVP), Pune, Christ University, Bangalore along with various state law colleges governed by the state government and all are growing day by day.

One more question I would like to deal with is are other entrance exams that one can give to get admission to LLB?

Of course, there are various law exams apart from CLAT such as Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) for admission in Symbiosis Law School, All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) for NLU Delhi, Law School Admission Test (LSAT), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET LLB), Banaras Hindu University Law Admission Test (BLAT), MAH Law CET, etc. Thus, there are various examinations apart from CLAT which you can take and go through a good law school and complete your LLB successfully.

No, CLAT scores are not imp. to get admissions into the BBA LLB course at Kirit P. School of Law. Because the institute is affiliated with NMIMS, and the institute accepts the relevant scores of NMIMS LAT too. Thus, you can enrol for the course with relevant scores in CLAT and NMIMS LAT too.

No, you don't have to take the CLAT 2026 exam to get admission in Chandigarh University. Instead, you must take the university's own entrance examination, the CUCET (Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test), which is very simple to pass. The best thing is that if you score well in CUCET, you can

Hi.

Yes, you can absolutely prepare for CLAT and UPES ULSAT together, as they share significant syllabus overlap (Legal/Logical Reasoning, GK, English, Quant), making integrated preparation efficient; focus on core areas for both but tailor extra practice for ULSAT's specific GK/current affairs and CLAT
