CLAT is a Common Law Admissions Test, conducted by Consortium of National Law Universities. Last days of preparation are very crucial for any competitive examinations like CLAT, so these crucial days should be utilised productively.

Correct Study Material
Start your preparation with standard materials and books to achieve a good score. Collecting the right materials for preparation is very important. Practising previous years question papers really helps a lot. Some of the important books given by the experts are mentioned below:
- English standard books like Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis, High School English Grammar and Composition by Wren &Martin, Objective General English by R. S. Agrawal, Barron’s Pocket Guide to Vocabulary
- General Knowledge standard books like Pearson General Knowledge Manual 2020, Manorama Yearbook, India Yearbook, Competition Success Review, The Hindu Newspaper and Static GK Books
- Legal Aptitude standard books like Universal CLAT Guide, Legal Awareness and Legal Aptitude by AP Bhardwaj, LexisNexis Butterworths Bare Act of Indian Constitution
- Logical Reasoning standard books like Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning by R. S. Agarwal, Analytical Reasoning by M. K. Pandey and Logical Reasoning by R. S. Agarwal.

Examination Structure
Another key to success is to understand the pattern of examination. CLAT examination is conducted once a year for both under-graduation and post-graduation. The mode of CLAT examination is offline. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes and the total number of questions is 150 in English language only. There is negative marking in CLAT exams i.e. for every wrong answer0.25 mark will be deducted. The purpose of conducting CLAT examination is to give admission in various courses like BA LLB, BCom LLB, BSC LLB and so on.
Focus Points
Focus points also play an important role in preparing for CLAT exam as it includes high scoring topics, weightage of each topic and approach of preparation. To get clarity on scoring/ important topics to refer and practice previous years question papers as much as you can. Some of the CLAT important topics (subject-wise) shared by toppers and experts are given below:
- English: Comprehension Passages, Grammar like fill in the blanks, vocabulary, spelling mistakes, sentence correction, one-word substitutions, Parts of Speech, Phrases, Synonyms and Antonyms
- General Knowledge and Current Affairs: Read newspapers on a daily basis to keep self-updated about the current affairs, some apps for current affairs are Josh CA, SCA, Textbook, etc.. Moreover, it includes national and international topics. CLAT aspirants must focus on judiciary and legislature, law and their executive functions of India. Important topics on general knowledge & current affairs are History, Political Science, Environment, General Science, Important Laws and Amendments, Sports and Judgements
- Mathematics: Algebra, Number Systems, Average, Percentages, Profit and Loss, Time Speed and Distance, Work & Time and so on Legal Aptitude like Constitution, Law and Polity
- Logical Reasoning like Series, Syllogism, Logical Sequences and Matching, Analogies, Seating Arrangements, Blood Relations
Revision Approach
For every competitive examination like CLAT, you should have a proper study plan as well as revision approach to attain high score..A proper study plan would help in ensuring that all the topics are covered from the syllabus. It should include details like completion of syllabus, revision, mock tests, doubts clarification and so on, You can also take guidance from your seniors and faculty in case of any doubts regarding your study or revision plan.
After completion of syllabus, revision is a must. Revise each and every topic thoroughly. Write slip tests, mock tests and conduct self-evaluation.
Self-evaluation
Self-evaluation is also important for attaining success.. Write as many mock tests as you can and analyse your performance. Clarify the doubts as and when they arise. You should follow a systematic procedure, observe, analyze your own performance this will lead you to achieve great success. Always have a positive mind, confidence and high spirit until the end of the examination.

You should understand that once you opt to get out of the counselling process you can not go back. You will get option to either freeze your seat or choose to let it go and participate in next round. You can anytime exit the whole process too.

There is no restriction as such for the CLAT exam. Thus, one can give CLAT any number of times they want to. Candidates should not feel bad if they are not able to clear the CLAT exam in first time.

No you can not get admission to 24 participating NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam. For admission to NLU Delhi, you need to clear AILET Exam.
