CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test. As all of you are aware that CLAT 2020 examinations dates have been announced and this year the date of examination is 10th May 2020. This is the crucial time for aspirants to prepare hard in order to get a good score. Also, you have to manage both Board examinations and CLAT examination simultaneously.

CLAT examination is conducted every year to select the students and give them admission into 23 National Law Universities in India. Every year more than 55,000 students write CLAT examination. CLAT examination is held by the Consortium Of National Law Universities headed by NLSIU. CLAT examination is conducted for admissions in UG and PG Programs offered by the National Law Universities.

  • CLAT important topics for English:- Comprehension Passages, Grammar like fill in the blanks, Vocabulary, Spelling Mistakes, Sentence Correction, one-word substitutions, Parts of speech, Phrases, Synonyms and Antonyms.
  • CLAT important topics for General Knowledge &Current Affairs: - You have to update your Current Affairs knowledge by reading daily newspapers, following some current affairs apps like Josh CA, SCA, Textbook, etc. CLAT aspirants must have knowledge about the judiciary and legislative law of India.

Be updated with current affairs on history, political science, environment, general science, important laws and amendments, sports, judgements. 

  • CLAT important topics for Mathematics:- Algebra, Number System, Average, Percentages, Profit & Loss, Time, Speed & Distance, Work & Time, etc., 
  • CLAT important topics in legal aptitude like Constitution, Law and polity. 
  • CLAT important topics on logical reasoning like Series, Syllogism, Logical Sequences & Matching, Analogies, Seating arrangements, Blood relations.

Revision Approach/Study Plan 

For every competitive examination like CLAT, you should have a proper study plan as well as a revision approach to crack a high score. The study plan really helps you a lot. Moreover, it mainly helps you not to skip any topics from the syllabus. So you should have a study plan and that should include completion of syllabus, revision, mock tests, doubts clarification, etc. If you have doubts, you can take guidance from your seniors and faculty. 

After completion of the syllabus, revision is a must. Revise each topic thoroughly and revise as many as you can. Write slip tests, mock tests and have self-evaluation. 

Tips to prepare CLAT at home

It is possible to prepare from home if you really have a great dedication. Coaching centres are not necessary if you really possess determination, knowledge and command over the subject. You have many options like using the internet and preparing at home. Some of the basic tips to prepare CLAT examination are mentioned below. 

  • Start your preparation as early as possible. 
  • Knowing the pattern of the examination and syllabus. 
  • Collecting standard books for CLAT preparation. 
  • Collecting previous years’ question papers and test series. 
  • Having a good schedule(study plan) until the examination for CLAT preparation
  • If necessary taking guidance from toppers, seniors and faculty. 
  • Clearing your doubts without any hesitation. 
  • Regular study, regular revision and regular mock tests. 
  • Having previous years’ papers analysis & practice those models without delaying. 
  • Writing mock tests and avoiding repeated mistakes. 
  • Time management
  • Knowing your strengths & weakness. 
  • Having self-motivated, self -evaluation is very essential. 
  • Using technology for CLAT preparation. 

Follow each and everything without skipping then surely you will succeed. Moreover, you should remember that “Hard work never fails”.

Based on recent CLAT analyses, the English Language and General Knowledge & Current Affairs sections were rated as the easiest. English is more about reading comprehension with direct questions. GK is highly scoring for those with consistent, up-to-date daily news preparation.

Many students feel the AILET exam is a bit tougher than CLAT because it has fewer seats and high competition. The AILET syllabus focuses more on reasoning and legal aptitude. Both tests need good preparation, but AILET 2027 usually has a higher cutoff for AILET colleges under NLU Delhi.

No, the CLAT Admit Card 2027 is not out yet. The admit card will likely be released on November 15, 2026. The official schedule has not been announced yet.
