CAT scorecard

The CAT 2018 result will be announced in the second week of January 2019. Although, IIM Calcutta has not announced any particular date for CAT 2018 result, speculations are rife that it will be declared on January 7, 2019. The CAT 2018 result cum scorecard will be made available for download on the official CAT website. The CAT 2018 test takers can check their CAT score and download the mark-sheet by using their login IDs and passwords.

What details will be mentioned in CAT 2018 result cum scorecard

CAT 2018 result cum score card will contain the following details:

  • CAT registration number/User Id
  • Candidate's name, category and gender
  • Date of birth
  • Date and time of examination
  • Candidate contact details and email id
  • Composite score
  • Section-wise score
  • Sectional percentile
  • Overall percentile

The candidates will also be intimated about CAT 2018 result via SMSCheck IIM Eligibility

CAT scores are accepted by IIMs and various B-schools. The aspirants can apply for admission to the institutes of their choice on the basis of CAT scores, but they must take into account the minimum cutoff percentile fixed by the institutes. Last year's actual CAT cut-offs of various IIMs

How to Calculate CAT Result 2018?

As per the marking scheme of CAT exam, 3 marks are awarded for every correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. For non-MCQs, there is no deduction of marks for wrong answer. Raw CAT scores of each candidate is calculated through CAT normalization process to arrive at CAT scaled score.

Post the declaration of CAT 2018 results, candidates will be invited for WAT-GD-PI rounds by various IIMs on the basis of minimum cut off percentile.

MET Center for Insurance Training, Research & Development considers CAT scores for admission to PGPMBA programme. However, it is not compulsory. Aspirants with any other accepted entrance exam scores can also get admission provided they also meet the eligibility.

Maximum marks in CAT is 204. There are 68 questions each carrying 3 marks. VARC is of 72 marks and DILR and Quants are of 66 marks each.
