TANCET 2021 is scheduled to be conducted on March 20 and March 21. Here are a few last-minute tips and preparation strategy to help you crack the TANCET exam which is just a day away now.
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) will be held on March 20 and March 21. With just a day left for the exam, you need to have the last-minute preparation strategy in place to help aspirants crack it. Here are some things that they must keep in mind:
Explore colleges based on TANCET
- My advice for all TANCET aspirants out there would be to have a thorough understanding of the important formulas, calculation tricks and shortcuts during the last couple of days. Refrain from studying any new topic at the last moment, rather focus on whatever you have covered previously.
- By now aspirants must have analysed the mock tests taken by you thoroughly to eliminate all probable errors. Also, keep a note of such errors to avoid losing both marks and morale during the exam. Watching the videos and articles on the Internet of the previous TANCET toppers and knowing how they leveraged their time as well as resources will also help.
- Aspirants should unwind themselves on the day before the test by indulging in meditation which would both calm their nerves as well as refresh them to be ready for the exam day.
- For better TANCET preparation, students can refer to helpful books such as TANCET MBA Superior Guide; Quantitative Aptitude for Competitive Examinations by RS Aggarwal; Reasoning Test (Verbal & Non-Verbal) by Dr M B Lal & A K Singh; and Logical and Analytical Reasoning by A K Gupta.
- There are chances of a student unable to solve a question or encountering doable but time-consuming questions. In the latter scenario, it's better not to spend too much time no matter what, and answer only those questions first which one is confident the most about.
Section-wise Last-Minute Strategy for TANCET 2021
- Reading Comprehension: Candidates should read as much as they can from articles on various topics to acquire a decent familiarity with them. After reading the Reading Comprehension passage, one should be in a position to instantly devise its summary. You may use the reverse strategy wherever applicable i.e. reading questions first and then searching for its answer in the passage.
- Quants: Here, one has to be well-versed with all the basic concepts and formulas of Quantitative Ability. Test-takers should use shortcuts, wherever applicable, to save time and score quickly. In case they are stuck in the middle while solving a question, they should simply move on to the next one without wasting time. To ensure this, they should practice more from the previous years' TANCET question papers to get better clarity about the type of expected questions.
- Data Sufficiency: As the Data Sufficiency section is comparatively more complex than the others, focus is the key. Candidates should solve different types of questions related to data analysis such as charts, tables, graphs, etc. Solving previous years’ papers will increase their speed and to get familiarity with the different types of questions as well as their difficulty level.
- English Usage: Here, being thorough with the basic rules of grammar and vocabulary is the key to score well. Major topics of this section include sentence correction, parts of speech, synonyms-antonyms based questions carefully.
- Business Situations: Since it may include lengthier passages, skim reading will come in handy. Candidates should mark all the necessary details given and try to make a logical sequence out of it. In the case of some confusing options included, they should choose the one which is logically and ethically correct. Stick to the details provided in the passage only and don’t make any assumptions, unless clearly specified.
Always remember that a calm mind will perform much better than a stressed mind any day.

A good score in TANCET depends on the course for admission. Generally, a score of 60+ marks (out of 100) for MBA and 55+ for MCA is considered good for admission into top-tier colleges via TANCET.
