SNAP is an easy exam and one can crack it with quick preparation if their fundamentals are clear. SNAP 2026 exam will be held on December 13, 19 and 26 so now is the time to apply 3-months strategy. Here's what your SNAP 2026 three month preparation strategy should look like.
SNAP 2026 exam preparation in three months requires focused plan and execution. This MBA entrance test by SIU may be easier than all other exams, but has its own challenges. In SNAP, speed is the key thus the preparation plan has to centered around practice.
This year, a new section has been introduced in SNAP which carries 10 marks. The Ethics, Morality & Values section is not tough but theory based. Since it has been introduced this year, it is not known that what type of questions will be asked. So, those who have not started SNAP 2026 preparation yet, must start now as this time extra effort will be needed.
If you’re preparing for other MBA entrance exams such as CAT 2026, NMAT 2026 on XAT 2027, you will be sorted for Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, syllabus wise. You will only need to practice sample papers and SNAP mock test.

The SNAP 2026 exam will be conducted on December 13, 19 and 26, 2026 and the candidates have the option to make one to three attempts. SNAP score of best of the three attempts will be taken into consideration for admission. So, apply accordingly. Divide your SNAP 2026 exam preparation plan into phases and assign actionables to them. Now let’s take a look at6 what all you need to do in these three phases for a fruitful SNAP preparation.
SNAP Preparation in 3 Months Phase-I: Complete the Syllabus
SNAP syllabus 2026 consists of all the important topics from General English, Analytical & Logical Reasoning (A-LR) and Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency (QA-DI & DS). A new section- Ethics, Morality and Values - has been added so you willl need to study extra now. Start with the subjects you are most familiar with. Develop speed and confidence in studying for 6-8 hours. Then move to tougher or unfamiliar topics. It is important to remember that the weightage of all four sections of SNAP is quite same so you need to work on all of them with equal dedication.
SNAP Preparation - To-Dos:
- Put more effort and spend more time on the topics you find tough. However, do not ignore one topic for the other.
- You may think you can crack the General English section without preparing for it much. Don’t make that mistake. The questions in this section can be tricky. So pay equal attention to English. Study word meaning, antonyms-synonyms and idioms extensivety.
- Move to the next topic only when you have completed one topic. Understand the concepts and formulae well, then practice their application at least three times and then move on to the next topic.
- Ethics, Morality and Values section will be theory and definition based so it will require memorising. Keep aside an hour for it daily.
- Do not study continuously for long hours. Take breaks in between and let your mind refresh itself
SNAP Preparation in 3 Months Phase-II: Practice SNAP Mock Tests
Practicing SNAP mock tests is of utmost importance because in an MBA entrance test you need to be able to use your knowledge acquired in the first phase well within a limited time period. Since mock tests are a replica of the real exam, the more you attempt them the more you get familiar with the actual SNAP exam.
SNAP Preparation - To-Dos:
- Attempt at least 25-30 mock tests along with SNAP question papers of previous years and sample papers to understand the trend of types of questions asked, weightage of each topic and difficulty level of the questions over the years.
- Analyse your performance after solving each SNAP mock test to assess your progress. You should be able to increase your speed and accuracy with every consecutive SNAP mock test. Register for official SNAP mock tests as well and attempt them to know what type of questions will be asked in Ethics, Morality and Values section.
- In the beginning, you may not perform well in the SNAP mock tests, don’t get disheartened. Keep going at it, your performance will improve. After all, mock tests are all about practice.

Keep aside a fortnight in November 2026 for revision of all the concepts, theorem and formulae topic-wise and section-wise. Revision is important as you need to refresh your memory with all that you've studied so far. Every topic, every theorem, every application, every logic should remain fresh in your memory till the exam day.
SNAP Preparation - To-Dos:
- Revise all those topics that are your weak areas. Revise their concepts, theorems, formulae and also the tricks and shortcuts you may have discovered during preparation.
- While revising for the SNAP 2026, take breaks in between so that you are able to understand and consume the information.
- Do not try to revise all the topics and all the sections together a day before the exam. On the penultimate day, relax. Your mind needs to be calm and composed on the exam day.

SNAP is one of the few MBA entrance exams which is easy in terms of difficulty level. It is much easier The number of questions, as well as the exam duration are less that than other MBA entrance exams. The type of questions asked in SNAP as also pretty straightforward.
Moreover, SNAP exam is held thrice for candidates to repeat attempts, which allows candidates to improve their score if they want to. The SNAP syllabus is same as other MBA entrance exam and there are no questions on Reading Comprehension or Data Sufficiency. This makes the SNAP exam much easier to crack than other exams.
Since 2020, the exam is conducted for only 60 minutes and the total number of questions asked is also 60. The first section of SNAP question paper is General English, the second section is Analytical & Logical Reasoning and the third section is Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency.
A good attempt of around 80 per cent of questions with 85-90 per cent accuracy is considered good score in SNAP. The SNAP exam has 60 questions only, so the number of attempts considered good are 40-45. Candidates must aim to solve a good number of questions in every section of SNAP, so that their overall score is good and they have a better chance of getting selected for admission. If you do not clear the SNAP cut off may not be eligible for admission to MBA programmers offered by SIU institutes. Meeting the minimum cut off is a mandatory requirement to be eligible for the Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). Thus, when preparing for SNAP, keep in mind a target score. The SNAP cut offs are lower for Reserved category candidates.
Freshers should start Quantitative Aptitude preparation with NCERT Mathematics books of Class 9 and 10 for getting fundamental understanding of the topics and concepts. Once they have grasped the concepts of Algebra, Trigonometry, Mensuration, Geometry and other topics of Arithmetic, then move on to books with advanced level of Quantitative Aptitude topics. Arun Sharma’s books on preparation for Quantitative Aptitude (also VARC and DILR books) are highly recommended as they are exhaustive and contain test papers of various difficulty levels. With the help of Arun Sharma books, you can understand the concepts and learn application to different type of Mathematical problems. In addition to that, you should refer to other Quant books and sample papers.
SNAP syllabus is not difficult as it contains the same topics as other MBA entrance exams. But the key to SNAP preparation lies in practicing SNAP specific questions.

SNAP final merit list is prepared on the basis of candidate's entrance exam score, academic profile, work profile and GE-PI performance.
To effectively prepare for SNAP exam about 6 months are required. Candidates can start early too, but not later than when six months are left for the SNAP exam date. 6 months will give candidates to cover all the topics of SNAP syllabus and practice mock tests.
SNAP is any easy exam but the time is too less to attempt all 60 questions. There is also negative marking in the exam, so candidates must practice about 30-40 full length and sectional mock tests to gain speed and accuracy. In the exam, they must stay away from any question whose answer they are not sure of.
Between SNAP and NMAT, the former is considered easier in terms of difficulty level of the questions. However, SNAP is of 60 minutes in which candidates have to address 60 question. This makes SNAP more challenging than NMAT which is a test of longer duration (2 hours having 108 questions).

It is possible but not advisable, as you may not score as desired. It is important to cover the SNAP syllabus too. You can solve questions in mock test correctly only if you understand the topics well.
