AIIMS, Delhi has released the eligibility criteria for the postgraduate entrance examination.  Read the article below to know the age limit, the number of attempts, minimum qualification, and minimum marks required in the qualifying examination here to apply for the AIIMS PG exam.

 

AIIMS PG eligibility criteria 2020 has been prescribed by the Institute for all the candidates who wish to appear for the entrance examination. The eligibility criteria of AIIMS PG sets the basic minimum qualification required to appear for the examination. AIIMS PG eligibility criteria 2020 comprises of various parameters, such as age limit, the number of attempts, minimum qualification and minimum marks required in the qualifying examination. The eligibility criteria of AIIMS PG does not put a cap on the number of attempts permitted to clear the examination, neither does it mention an upper age limit for the candidates appearing for the examination.

One must also note that according to AIIMS PG eligibility criteria, candidates who have already joined/pursuing MD/MS/MDS in any subject at the time of counselling shall be considered for counselling, but those who have already completed the said courses will not be eligible for AIIMS PG.

Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria of AIIMS PG 2020 before applying for the entrance test. If it is found that a candidate does not fulfill the AIIMS PG eligibility criteria and has provided false information, he/she shall be debarred from appearing in the PG entrance examination. AIIMS PG Eligibility Criteria for MD/ MS/ DM/ M.Ch

  • A candidate must possess MBBS degree from a University recognised by the Medical Council of India
  • He/ she must have completed 12 months of compulsory rotating Internship/Practical training on or before July 30, 2020 (For July session)
  • Candidate must have provisional/ permanent registration of MCI.

AIIMS PG Eligibility Criteria for MDS

  • A candidate must possess a BDS degree from a University recognised by the Dental Council of India.
  • He/ she must have completed 12 months of compulsory rotating Internship/Practical training on or before July 30, 2020.
  • Candidate must have provisional/ permanent registration of DCI.

AIIMS PG Eligibility Criteria 2020: For all courses

Age limit

There is no age limit for the candidates who wish to appear for the AIIMS PG examination.

Number of permitted attempts

According to the eligibility criteria of AIIMS PG 2020, there is no fixed number of attempts for the examination. Candidate can appear for the examination as many times as needed to clear it or to get the desired discipline.

Minimum Marks required in the qualifying examination

  • Candidates belonging to General/Other Backward Classes/ Economically weaker sections need at least 55% in the qualifying examination to apply for AIIMS PG.
  • For those who belong to Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe, a minimum score of 50% is needed.
  • For Persons with Benchmark Disability:
    1. If a PWD candidate belongs to the General/OBC category, he/she needs a minimum aggregate of 55% to apply for AIIMS PG.
    2. If a PWD candidate belongs to the SC/ST category, he/she needs a minimum aggregate of 50% to apply for AIIMS PG.

AIIMS PG eligibility criteria for sponsored candidates

For the candidates belonging to the sponsored category, the minimum aggregate required in the qualifying examination will be the same as the other candidates.

AIIMS PG eligibility criteria for Foreign National candidates

Candidates must obtain a certificate of grading system from his/her University/ Institution.

He/ she must then calculate the total from the certificate and fill the "Marks Column" in the AIIMS PG application form.

AIIMS PG eligibility criteria for Indian National candidates graduated from foreign Universities

  • He/she should have cleared the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE), which is conducted by the National Board of Examinations.
  • Such candidates are required to fill the marks obtained in the FMGE in their online AIIMS PG application form.
  • For these candidates, the qualifying examination would be the FMGE.

Who cannot apply for the AIIMS PG 2020?

  • Those who complete their internship after July 30, 2020.
  • Those who already have an MD/MS/MDS degree.
  • Those who score less than the minimum marks required in the qualifying examination.
  • Those who have completed their MBBS/ BDS degree which is not recognised by the MCI/ DCI respectively.
  • Those who are not registered with the Medical/Dental Council of India.
