Aditya Kumar Panda, AIR 1 in NEET 2024 exam, scored a perfect 720 on 720 in the NEET UG exam. During an interview with Shiksha.com, he shared that NCERT books were his study material and notes from the coaching centre were very helpful. He further mentioned that with regular revision and practice, he was able turn his weakness into a strength. He advised students to revisit and rectify the mistakes made during preparation and prepare as per the NEET exam pattern

'Be Consistent and Follow Your Teachers’ Guidance' - Says AIR 2, Utkarsh Awadhiya

All India Rank 2 in the NEET UG 2025, Utkarsh Awadhiya, during an interview with Shiksha, said, "My strategy was simple, i.e. be consistent and follow what teachers say. I was attentive in class and serious about every test. Regular testing helped me immensely." While talking about how he manages board exams with NEET preparation, he further said that understanding the concept well for NEET helped him write the board exam more easily. He later advised droppers not to repeat last year's mistake and stay focused. 

‘Class 11 Subjects Are Equally Important’ - Says AIR 1, Tathagat Avatar

Tathagat Avatar secured AIR 1 in NEET UG 2024 exam with 720/720 scores. During an interview with Shiksha.com, he said that to succeed in NEET 2026, students should equally prioritise Class 11 and 12 NCERT books for NEET. Tathagat emphasises that Class 11 topics are foundational and should never be taken lightly. To build exam energy, aspirants must join a reliable online or offline test series and practice NEET exam question papers regularly. Students should clear their basics first. He further mentioned that students should maintain dedication and constantly revise.

Q:   Has NTA removed any city from the NEET 2026 exam city list?
A:

The NTA has not released the NEET 2026 exam city list yet. The number of exam cities will be known after the release of NEET notification 2026. However, the NTA removed five cities from the list in 2025. The five cities which were removed from the NEET exam city list were Surampelam (Andhra Pradesh), Deoghar (Madhya Pradesh), Basar (Arunachal Pradesh), Mamit (Mizoram) and Kiphrie (Nagaland).

Q:   Will NTA extend or postpone NEET important dates?
A:

NTA has not announced the NEET UG 2026 dates as of now. The NEET exam date 2026 will be released soon. While NTA does not postpone the NEET exam date in general, it is common for NTA, the exam conducting authority to extend or postpone the dates of application form submission last date or the application correction last date. There have been instances in previous years where NTA had reopened the NEET application process or the NEET application correction window as a response to student requests or other internal reasons. On the other hand, last year, NTA had announced the NEET 2024 result date in advance, which was June 14, 2024, but was preponed by 10 days, and was released on June 4, 2024. Hence, the NEET 2026 important dates may get extended or postponed. 

Q:   What is the timing of the NEET examination?
A:

The duration of NEET exam is three hours. The exam timing is 2 PM to 5 PM. Test takers needed to report to the exam centre latest by 1 PM. They could not leave the exam hall before 5 PM. 

Q:   What is the procedure to challenge NEET OMR sheets?
A:

The responses marked on the OMR Sheet of NEET are scanned and uploaded on the official website of NTA. The responses marked are read and captured by the machines, which can sometimes lead to smudging of the responses. Therefore, there can be errors in the scanned copy of NEET OMR sheet. If a student finds any such error in their OMR sheet, they have the provision to challenge them. Candidates have to pay a processing fee of INR 200 per response challenged. The steps for challenging the OMR sheet of NEET are given below:

  1. Go to the official website of NTA NEET
  2. Login using the NEET application number and password or date of birth
  3. Click on “OMR Challenge”
  4. You will see the questions in sequential order
  5. Select Question (s) for which you wish to challenge the Recorded Response.
  6. Once you select any Question for Challenge, you will see three options under the column ‘Candidate’s Claim’.
  7. If you wish to challenge this option, you may use the Options given in the ‘Candidate’s Claim’ column.
  8. After clicking your desired option, for Physics / Chemistry / Botany / Zoology for NEET (UG) - 2023, scroll down, ‘Submit’, and move to the next screen.
  9. You will see a screen displaying your challenges.
  10. Click on ‘Submit' and Pay Fee Finally’.
  11. Select Mode of Payment and Pay a processing fee of INR 200 for each question/grade challenged. Make payment through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/Paytm.
  12. After successful payment, download/print the Answer Key challenge receipt
Q:   Will there be NEET exam in 2026?
A:

There will be NEET exam in 2026. The NEET UG exam will be held on May 3. The NTA has announced the dates and schedule for the exam. 

Q:   What are the languages in which NEET will be conducted?
A:

NEET will be conducted in 13 languages. Till 2020, NEET was held in 11 languages. NTA increased the number of languages or medium to 13 from 2021 onwards. Malayalam and Punjabi are the latest additions. The list of languages are as follows:

Candidates must carry around 2 to 3 copies of the NEET admit card to the exam centre. Though only one copy is required at the exam centre, however, one should carry two or three copies in case of any hussle such as the copy gets stained or torn.

The NEET UG 2026 admit card has not been released yet. The NTA will release NEET admit card or hall ticket around April 29, 2026, that is, four days before the exam.

The NEET UG 2026 registration started on February 8, 2026. The NEET registration last date is March 8, 2026. The NTA has not extended the last date to apply online. Candidates should submit their forms timely as no further extension will be provided.
