NEET PG 2025 counselling dates will be released along with the official brochure online. The counselling is expected to begin in the last week of October 2025. Reportedly, MCC has been directed to delay the counselling as regulaory body NMC has to add some medical colleges and seats for 2025-26 session. Another reason is pending court case in NEET PG 2025 answer key transparency matter, scheduled for October 28. It must be noted, Medical counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct counselling for allotment of 50% All India quota seats.

Only candidates who qualify NEET PG 2025 with the minimum cut off percentile are eligible to participate in the seat allotment process. It must be noted that MCC conducts counselling for 50% All India Quota seats while respective state counselling authorities will be conducting counselling for rest 50% AIQ seats. MCC conducts total 4 rounds of counselling for seat allotment.

Q:   Do I have to go any NEET PG counselling center for registration?
A: 

No. Candidates don't need to visit any particular centre for registration or choice declaration. They need to have good internet conectivity for registration. Candidates can make registration as per their convenience with uninterrupted internet supply. It must be noted registration is mandatory to participate in NEET PG seat allotment process.

 

Q:   What information is needed for NEET PG registration for seat allotment?
A: 

Candidates need to enter all those details which were submitted while submitting NEET PG application form. Some information can be filled from admit card issued before exam. This is the reason candidates are advised to save copy of application form and admit card. Both these documents are needed at various stsges of admission process for NEET PG exam. 

Q:   How to generate password for NEET PG counselling registration?
A: 

Candidates do have to generate password while making registration for NEET PG counselling. The password can be reset again by candidate. It must be noted the password must be saved till admission process gets over and must not be shared to anyone. Password generation is an important step for online NEET PG seat allocation process.

Q:   I have registered for round 1 of NEET PG counselling. Should I register again for round 2/mop up round?
A: 

No, online registration for NEET PG counselling is a one-time process. Those who have already registered once don't need to register again. Only those candidates who have not registered themselves during round 1 need to register for the round 2/mop-up round. Registration can be done in any round except last one on the official website. Mcc. Nic. In. Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts counselling for allotment of 50% All India Quota seats.

Q:   Who will be eligible for NEET PG counselling rounds?

Candidates who qualify NEET PG exam with minimum cutoff marks as decided by NBE will be eligible to participate in the counselling. The qualifying cut off varies as per the category. NEET PG 2025 Counselling Process

Those who qualify NEET PG 2025, securing the minimum cut off percentile are eligible to participate in the counselling process. NEET PG counselling is conducted for admission to 50% All India Quota seats and 100% deemed/central universities, ESIC, and AFMS seats. A total of four rounds of NEET PG counselling 2025 will be conducted by MCC for the above-mentioned seats. The respective State authorities will conduct counselling for the remaining 50% AIQ seats. The counselling process starts with online registrations and ends with candidates reporting to the allotted institute with all the documents. Seats are allotted based on choice filled, availability of seats in particular institute, reservation criteria and other factors. Seat allotment result will be released separately for every round.

The counselling of NEET PG is conducted for admission to the following quotas:

Registration

Candidates who wish to participate in the counselling for NEET PG 2025 have to register on the official website of MCC. New registrations are accepted before each round. However, candidates who have registered once for NEET PG counselling 2025 do not need to register for the second time.

Steps to register for the counselling of NEET PG 2025 have been listed below:

  • Go to the official website on MCC-mcc.nic.in
  • Click on ‘PG Medical Counselling’
  • Register using a valid email ID and mobile number
  • Note down the login credentials
  • Login again to fill the application form
  • Enter personal/academic details
  • Check the form before final submission

Registration fee

  • To participate in the counselling of NEET PG 2025, a candidate needs to pay the registration fee
  • The registration fee for NEET PG 2025 counselling has to be paid online (Net banking/credit card/debit card)
  • There are two components of the registration fee, refundable and non-refundable

Choice filling

Candidates now have to choose the desired course and colleges from the list given on MCC. Candidates can choose as many options as they want. The options will be given on the left side of the screen and will move to the right side of the page once chosen. Options can be added or deleted from the list. Candidates are advised to check the choices filled before submitting them as the seat allocation will be done on the basis of the same. Candidates should lock the choice otherwise it will be automatically locked after the due date. Also, they must keep a copy of the choices filled for future use.

How to fill the choice for NEET PG seat allotment 2025

  • Go to the MCC website and log in through registration credentials
  • Fill the choice of college and course for NEET PG seat allotment 2025
  • Click on ‘+’ button to add a new choice
  • For rearranging the order of choice filled, just drag it to the desired position
  • Click on ‘save and next’ to lock the final choices as desired by candidates

Seat allotment Result

MCC releases the result of NEET PG counselling in the form of a seat allotment list. The result PDF comprises details of the candidate, rank secured, the course or the institute allotted to her/him, and remarks. After the registration process for the first round for NEET PG counselling, MCC will start seat allotment processing. Seats will be allocated based on the options filled by the candidates, their all India ranks, reservation criteria, availability of seats and other aspects. MCC will upload the NEET PG seat allotment list on its official website in PDF format. Candidates who make it to the list can download their seat allotment letter by logging into the registered account on the official website.

Reporting to the institute

Candidates who will be allocated a seat in the counselling of NEET PG 2025 will have to report to the allocated institute. They must carry all their certificates in original along with a self-attested copy. Candidates must pay the required fee to secure their seats during the counselling process. List of documents that a candidate must carry to the allocated institute is given below.

Candidates must note that it is mandatory for them to be present physically for verification of documents and confirmation of the allocated seat. If they fail to report to the allocated institute, their candidature will be forfeited.

NEET PG 2025 Counselling: Seat Matrix

The seat matrix of NEET PG 2025 denotes the number of seats available under each speciality course. The seat matrix also defines the number of seats that are available for a particular category of candidates. It will be released before each round for NEET PG counselling 2024. Referring to the NEET PG seat matrix 2025 before filling the options in the preference form will help candidates determine the chances of getting the desired speciality with their score. 

NEET PG 2025 Reservation

The final seat allocation will be done considering the reservation criteria for NEET PG 2025 exam. Candidates will get 27 per cent OBC quota and 10 per cent EWS quota for admission through 50 per cent All India Quota seats. These candidates will have to produce relevant certificates to take the benefit of the NEET PG 2025 reservation criteria while seeking admission.

Q:   How much time is provided to join allotted college after seat allocation?
A: 

For every counselling round, reporting deadline is provided in the counselling schedule. Candidates can submit fees and report till the given deadline. Though candidates can report till last day, but they are advised to report before the deadline due to different schedule of holiday/working hours in various Medical Colleges/Institutes. Also they are advised to carry all original certificates and documents during reporting.

Q:   Will candidates who were not allotted seats in either round one or two have to register for NEET PG 2025 mop up round?
A: 

No, such candidates don't need to register again. Only those who have not registered, need to register for seat allotment. Candidates who have not allotted seats despite registration in round-1 or round-2, they only have to exercise choice for mop-up round NEET PG counselling 2025. Seats will be allotted based on choice declared and other factors. MCC will notify dates for NEET PG 2025 counselling on its official website.

Q:   Where will NEET PG counselling be conducted?
A: 

The counselling of NEET PG is an online process. Thus, candidates need not to go anywhere for the counselling process. However, candidates do need to report to the institute allocated to them for confirmation of their admission. NEET PG 2025 qualified candidates will have to register on the official website, mcc. nic. in to participate in the counselling process. As DNB-CET was scrapped, admission to the post-MBBS DNB broad speciality courses is now based on the performance of a candidate in NEET PG. The counselling for DNB courses is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). NEET PG 2025 Counselling Rounds

After the seat allotment result for the first round NEET PG counselling, candidates have to choose the options based on their status. They have to choose out of the following options to give their accent to participate in the next round of counselling for NEET PG. 

Round 1 Counselling: Options to Choose

Option 1: This is termed as 'free exit'. The seat allotted to a particular candidate during NEET PG counselling 2025 round one gets automatically cancelled if he/she don't report to the allotted institute within the given duration of time.

Option 2: The candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted to him/her in round one of NEET PG 2025 counselling and reports to the allocated colleges within the given timeframe to secure the seat.

Option 3: Those who are not satisfied with the allotted seat in the first round can opt for the up-gradation of seats and participate in the next round of counselling. If a seat is not upgraded in the second round of NEET PG 2025 counselling, the seat allotted in the first round will be retained.

NEET PG 2025 Round-2 Counselling

The process for NEET PG second round counselling 2025 is similar to that of the first round. In this round, new candidates who didn't participate in the first round will have to register and pay the registration fee. Those who have already registered during round one, don't need to register again. But the choice filling is mandatory to every candidate irrespective of the fact whether they declare the choice in the first round of NEET PG 2025 counselling. 

Who can participate in NEET PG 2025 round two counselling?

  • Those who didn't get any seat in NEET PG counselling 2025 round one
  • Seat allotted in round one but it got cancelled in the physical document verification process
  • If a candidate wants to upgrade his allotted seat in the NEET PG round one counselling 2025
  • Candidates who choose 'free exit' option or did not participate in round one counselling.

NEET PG 2025 Round-3 counselling

NEET PG 2025 counselling round-3 will be conducted for seat allotment in deemed, central universities and ESIC institutes. Candidates who exited in counselling rounds one and two by not reporting to the college allotted to them will have to register for the NEET PG round-3 counselling 2025. Those who didn't get any seat in either round one or two of NEET PG counselling 2025, don't need to register again in this round. All the candidates will have to fill fresh choices of colleges/courses in this round for the seat allotment process. The seat allotment result for the mop-up round will be published on the official website.

A: 

If you opt to participate in the second round of NEET PG and you are allotted seat in that round, only in that case, your candidature for round-1 gets cancelled. If you will not be allotted seat in round-2, previously allotted seats in round-1 will not be cancelled. MCC conducts a total of 4 rounds of NEET PG counselling for seat allocation. 

Q:   What is the last date to declare choices for NEET PG 2025 counselling special stray vacancy round?
A: 

MCC will provide dates and schedule for NEET PG 2025 counselling special stray vacancy round. Special stray vacancy round is held if MCC reduces cut off. Candidates have to login with registration ID and password to declare choices. It must be noted choice could be modified (edit/add/delete) any number of times till the deadline. Choices for NEET PG counselling must have to be saved and locked otherwise it gets automatically locked after the last date. 

Q:   Whether up-gradation is allowed from round 2 of NEET PG 2025 counselling of Deemed/ Central Universities to mop up round?

No, up-gradation is not allowed once a candidate accepts the seat allotted in round 2 NEET PG 2024 counselling and joins the institute. Upgradation is only allowed in round-1 when candidates who have opted for upgradation after participation in the next round of NEET PG 2025 counselling. Candidates have to register on the official website and declare choices for seat allotment. Total 4 rounds of NEET PG 2025 counselling will be held for seat allotment.
