
NTA NIFT 2026 Application correction window is closed now for all candidates who have filled the NIFT Registration form 2026. It was active from January 21, 2026 to January 22, 2026 up to 11:50 P.M. Candidates who wished to make changes to their details submitted in the form can do so now. No fees were charged by NTA for making the permitted corrections in the form.
NIFTEE Registration 2026 is closed with regular and late fees of INR 5000. The window was open from December 08, 2025 to January 19, 2026. Applications were released on the official website for B.Des, M.Des, and B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M. Candidates who meet NIFT eligibility criteria 2026 could apply. How to Fill NIFT Entrance Exam Application Form 2026
NIFT participating colleges 2026 offer admission in UG and PG programmes like B.Des, M.Des, B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M. The NIFT entrance exam application form is the same for all courses. Candidates have to mention their course preference in the given field. Under the NIFT Lateral Entry Admission, candidates will be considered for admission directly to the third semester of the UG program. Eligible candidates will have to fill out the form online. The step-wise process to apply for NIFT 2026 is given below.
1. Enter the AADHAR Number and Create a login ID
Click on the application tab. A registration form will open, asking you to enter the Aadhaar Number.
After successful verification of your AADHAR number, fill in the following details.
- Parent's name
- Email ID
- Mobile Number
Once the details are submitted, an acknowledgment email will be sent to the registered email address. Note that details provided at the time of creating the login ID cannot be modified later.
2. Fill in the Application Form
The candidate next had to log in to the newly created account and fill in the following details.
- Test center - Select a test center (city) from the drop-down menu.
- Personal information - including the name of one's parents, gender, nationality, domicile, etc.
- Address for correspondence.

3. Upload documents
The candidate must upload their signature and photograph in the prescribed format. Candidates seeking reservation need to upload a Valid Caste Certificate.
4. Pay the application fee

NIFT Eligibility Criteria for UG and PG Programmes
Eligibility criteria for the NIFT exam given by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) are given below.

Yes, the National Institute of Fashion Technology will allow candidates with late fees. The late fee application window will open once the deadline to fill out the NIFT 2026 application form with regular fee closes. The start and last date to fill out the NIFT 2026 application form with late fee will be notified by the institute before the regular application form closes or sometime thereabout. The late fee for NIFT 2026 will be INR 5,000. The late fee has to be paid in addition to the application fee, which is INR 3000 for open category candidates.

The NIFT 2026 registration window is now closed. With a late fee of INR 5,000, candidates were apply online until Jan 19. Further, the phase 1 exam was held on Feb 8, 2026.
In the event of any ineligibility being detected by NIFT /NTA at any stage of the NIFT admission process, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled. - Candidate needs to report at the NIFT 2026 exam centre one hour before the commencement of the exam.

- Go to NIFT admission portal and click on application link.
- A registration form will open. Enter registration details like email ID, mobile number, and phone number
- Upon registration, a unique candidate account will be created.
- Fill in the rest of the form, including personal, academic, and contact details.
- Documents candidate has to upload during registration include photograph and signature in JPEG format and size not exceeding 100 kb.
- Pay application fee to complete application process.
The candidate has to select their admission category at the time of filling out the NIFT 2026 application form. The candidate must make sure that they have the requisite valid and verificable certificate supporting their category.
Note that the category selected by a candidate at the time of submitting the application form will be considered as final.
If a candidate selects a reserved category i.e. SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PWD but fails to submitted a valid Category Certificate, he or she will be considered for open category seats provided any benefit of relaxed age or income or cut offs has not been availed by the candidate at any stage of the Admission Process. If any benefit has been availed, the candidate’s application will be rejected.

The NIFT 2026 application fee is category-specific. The application fee for General/OBC (Non-Creamy)/GEN-EWS Category. Meanwhile, those belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD Category need to pay only INR 1,500. On the day of the NIFT exam, candidates must bring the following items with them NIFT 2026 admit card, a valid photo id proof, HB Pencil, eraser, sharpener, and dry colours.

NIFT Creative Ability Test or NIFT CAT will evaluate the intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development, and design ability of the candidate. To prepare for CAT the candidate must develop their observation skills, learn the basics of geometrical shapes, understand conceptualization, learn product drawing and shading. Additionally, the candidate must also work on their line quality. For instance, the candidate needs to ensure there are no jittery or multiple lines. To improve one's drawing skills, one may start with simple drawings and then move on to complex shapes. Also, while shading is not so important for the exam, shading skills can definitely help the candidate get a positive nod from the evaluator.
Along with NIFT 2026 admit card, you must bring with you a valid photo ID proof. The photo ID proof can be any of the following documents Aadhaar Card, Passport, Driving License, School or College ID Card or Voter ID. Candidates who fail to bring the mandatory documents will not be allowed to take the exam. Note that the candidate is also recommended to carefully go through the guidelines mentioned on the NIFT 2026 admit card. This will help the candidate stay out of trouble on exam day. There is no fixed number of mock tests one should take before the NIFT Entrance Exam. A candidate should take at least one mock test daily for the NIFT Entrance Preparation. 10-15 mock tests will really help in preparing for the exam.
