
NIIFT 2025 - The Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology released the application form for the NIIFT 2025 exam. The applications are closed on the NIIFT 2025 admission portal. NIIFT is a national level entrance exam conducted by the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT). The design exam is conducted once a year. The candidate needs to appear in the exam as per the schedule released by the institute.

NIIFT Application Form 2025
NIIFT 2025 Application forms are closed. Candidates who wish to appear for the NIIFT entrance exams have to fill out the NIIFT 2025 application form online. To fill out the form, follow the steps.
Step 1: Registration
Eligible candidates have to fill in the application form before the last date.
Note: Entries in the application form shall be required to be filled out only in English.
Step 2: Fill out the application form
Before proceeding to fill up the application form, keep the following items ready:
a) Valid Email ID
b) Educational qualification details
c) Scanned photograph in jpg/jpeg format and size should not exceed 50 KB and not less than 5KB
d) Scanned signature in jpg/jpeg format and size should not exceed 50 KB and not less than 5KB
Fill in the details on the online application form and click Save. Since candidates' eligibility will be screened based on the information furnished by them, they are required to exercise sufficient care to correctly furnish the details of their qualifications, etc. After that, upload photographs and signatures.
Note: In case the candidate does not want to upload a photograph & signature (Option: Do you want to upload a photo/signature image(Y/N)? is available. Candidates selecting NO against this option will be required to affix the photograph and signature on the Printout of Application Form and dispatch to AIMA, New Delhi.
Step 3: Pay the application fee
There are two options available for payment of the application fee as given below: 1. Demand Draft, 2. Debit / Credit Card
1. Payment through Demand Draft: Make a demand draft of INR 1,750/- (for General Candidates) and INR 440/- (for SC/ST/PH Candidates) in favour of “NIIFT Mohali”, payable at Mohali for all the offered courses. The details of the Demand Draft are to be filled in the online application form. Candidates applying through Demand Draft are required to send the printout of the Application Form, duly completed in all respects, along with testimonials (copy of 10th marksheet, 12th result/result of qualifying examination), DOB birth certificate, certificate of reserved category or sub category (in the prescribed format duly signed by prescribed authorities), Certificate of Punjab Domicile/Residence certificate, (if applicable) and Demand Draft on the following address so as to reach on or before last date.

2. Step 4: Download the admit card
Download the admit card. The hall ticket will contain the details of the centre/venue for the examination, etc. The admit card for the written test will NOT be sent by post or email. Candidates are advised to regularly check AIMA website for updates.
Step 5: Appear for NIIFT Exam
Candidates are required to appear for the NIIFT exam. Candidates need to report at the allotted NIIFT test centre 45 minutes before the commencement of the design entrance exam. The design entrance test will be of three three-hour durations and will carry 100 marks. After appearing for the written entrance test, shortlisted candidates then need to appear for the situation test. “A situation test is a hands-on test to evaluate candidates’ innovative ability and material handling skills on a given situation with a given set of material”, informs the official website.
Note: The situation test is to be given by only those candidates who are applying for UG design courses on offer at NIIFT.
NIIFT Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for UG and PG courses offered by NIIFT are mentioned below:
For UG Courses: Candidates who fulfil any of the following parameters are eligible to appear for NIIFT entrance exam for admission in UG design courses.
- The +2 level examinations in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognised Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi or
- General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level or
- Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in Foreign countries recognised by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system or
- A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects or
- 3 or 4-years diploma recognised by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education.

For PG Courses: Candidates who fulfil any of the following parameters are eligible to take admission in PG design courses.
For MSc Garment Manufacturing Technology and MSc Fashion Marketing & Management: BSc/ BTech/ BE or BCom/ BBA/ BCA/BA with any one of the following subjects: Economics/Statistics/ Management/ Marketing / Mathematics /Textiles/Fashion/ Accounts/ Computers /Home Science /any other related Diploma

NIIFT Entrance Exam Admission Process
Candidates seeking admission to the Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT) have to follow the process as under:
Step 1: After qualifying written exam appear for an interview
Candidates who qualify the written test will appear for the interview. The interview will either be conducted online or offline. In the interview round, a candidate is evaluated on the following parameters:

Step 2: Check the result

Step 3: Appear for counselling
Candidates whose names appear in the final merit list declared by the college then need to attend the NIIFT counselling session conducted at NIIFT Mohali. The schedule of the counselling for final allotment of seats at NIIFT campuses will be displayed on the college website. There will be three round of counselling and the candidates will be given a stipulated time to pay the admission fee. After that Open Admission will be given for leftover seats (if any) on a first come first serve basis.

DAT entrance exam is considered to be moderate. IN NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective, drawing related questions. Thus, candidates need to be extremely creative and have a clear understanding of their concepts when appearing for the DAT.

NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, the exam will be very difficult. So, start early. The same goes for the GAT.
Candidates who qualify in the WWI 2025 written exam will next have to appear in a Personal Interview. The list of eligible candidates will be publised on the admission portal.
Note that is mandatory for the candidate to appear in all the stages of the WWI entrance exam. Or else the candidate will not be included in the merit list.
