When do I need to start my preparation for NIFT 2026 exam?

The NIFT exam is among the competitive and is also considered among the toughest. So, it is recommended that the candidate starts their exam preparation early. NIFT exam has various components like written exam and Situation Test /Personal Interview. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des courses need to prepare for both the CAT and GAT. The CAT is a drawing-based exam. Now unless the candidate is already well-versed, the exam will be very difficult. So, start early. The same goes for the GAT.

NIIFT 2026 - The Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology will release the application form for the NIIFT 2026 exam. The applications will be released at niiftindia.com. The application will open in the last week of March 2026. The design-based entrance examination will take place at the NIIFT campus.

Candidates who meet the program-specific eligibility criteria may apply before the last date. To fill in the form, enter all the essential information: program of study, age, name, gender, communication details, etc. Pay for the application form and submit it.

The exam will include a Creative Aptitude in Fashion Test (CAFT). The NIIFT 2026 question paper for the UG will have five sections: Quantitative Ability, Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Analytical Ability, and Creative Ability. A total of 101 questions (100 objective and one subjective) will be asked, and candidates must attempt them in three hours. Admit cards for NIIFT 2026 will be issued to successfully registered candidates.
