The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) and The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, have commenced the admission process for the July 2025 intake of their prestigious joint PhD programme.

The programme is scheduled to begin in July 2025, with applications open until March 18, 2025. Currently, more than 100 students are enrolled in this collaborative initiative, which provides a distinctive academic experience, including a higher fellowship amount compared to standard domestic PhD programmes.

The joint PhD programme is open to outstanding candidates from diverse academic backgrounds, including science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), humanities, and social sciences. Selected candidates will benefit from an international research experience, spending one year at UQโ€™s Brisbane campus and three years at IIT Delhi.

All successful applicants will be awarded a scholarship for up to four years (based on full-time study). Additionally, to assist interested candidates, information sessions will be conducted on February 25 and March 4, 2025. Further strengthening its research focus, the UQ-IITD Research Academy has partnered with The Weir Group to launch a new PhD project aimed at advancing research in slurry transportation.
