WBJEE 2026: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts WBJEE as an annual examination for BTech admissions. Eligible candidates are offered admissions into participating Government and Self-financing institutes of state. All admissions will be done based on WBJEE scores. However, upto 10% of the approved seats in the Self-Financed colleges will be available for JEE Main qualified candidates. Official WBJEE 2026 notification is expected to be released anytime soon.

WBJEE exam date 2026 will be announced soon. As per previous year's trends, WBJEE 2026 exam is expected to be held in fourth week of April as a pen and paper based test. Official WBJEE registration date 2026 will be announced soon online at wbjeeb.nic.in/wbjee. To participate in exam, candidates will have to complete WBJEE 2026 registration before last date. Before registrations, candidates should check official eligibility criteria. Registered candidates will be able to access WBJEE 2026 admit card online. WBJEE exam pattern and syllabus will be released along with official information brochure. To perform well in entrance exam, candidates should be prepared accordingly. What is WBJEE?

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, also known as WBJEE is conducted as a state level exam by WBJEEB authorities. WBJEE is held annually to select candidates for admission into undergraduate courses offered at state universities, government colleges and self-financing engineering & technical institutions. For admission, candidates have to qualify entrance examination. JEE Main qualified candidates who meet basic eligibility can apply for admission through WBJEE counselling.

How is WBJEE exam conducted?

WBJEE is conducted as an offline test. During exam, candidates have to answer questions in OMR sheet provided by authorities. Candidates have to attempt all 155 questions from Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Overall, questions will be from 11th and 12th standard syllabus. To be eligible for admission, candidates have to qualify WBJEE with valid scores.

WBJEE Paper Timings

WBJEE is held as two papers - Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). Both papers will be held in one day and candidates will have to attempt both to qualify for BTech admission. Candidates can check paper timings for WBJEE exam below.

Previous Year's WBJEE Analysis

According to previous year's WBJEE exam analysis, the paper was overall moderate to tough. Out of all sections, Mathematics was the toughest, while Physics was easy to moderate. Chemistry was the easiest section out of all sections. Students found Mathematics paper tough since questions were lenghty and needed calculation.

Marking Scheme

Category I - Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. An incorrect response will yield a loss of ¼ mark. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.

Category II - Only one option is correct, the correct response yields two marks. An incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks. For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield a -1/2 (25% negative) mark.

Category III - One or more options may be correct. Correct responses will be given 2 (two) marks. There is no negative marking.

No official response has been made regarding WBJEE 2026 exam date announcement delay. However, according to reports, the delay may be due to State Legislative elections, which are to be held in March to April 2026. Another reason for exam date announcement delay may also be due to admission process ending late in previous year because of OBC reservation issue. Once exam date is announced, WBJEEB is also expected to declare WBJEE registration date 2026. All updates regarding WBJEE 2026 exam will be available at official website.

WBJEE 2026 Application Form Correction Facility

WBJEEB will open the online WBJEE application form correction facility 2026, a few days after registration process is over. Through the online facility, registered candidates will be able to edit/correct details submitted in WBJEE application form 2026. However, all details will not be open for corrections. Candidates must note that they will not be able to edit their basic details such as name, parent’s name, gender, domicile, etc, through WBJEE 2026 application correction facility. Therefore, they should be careful during WBJEE 2026 application process, and should refer to their official documents. The correction facility is a one-time process, i.e., once corrections are submitted, it cannot be edited.

WBJEE Eligibility Criteria 2026: Qualifications, Age, Domicile Requirements

Official WBJEE 2026 eligibility criteria will be announced soon. Candidates should know eligibility criteria before registering for entrance examination. Eligibility criteria for appearing in WBJEE 2026

  • Candidate must be an Indian citizen

Age restriction

  • Candidate must be at least 17 years of age as of admission year. There is no upper age limit for appearing in exam.
  • However, for admission to Marine Engineering Course, lower age limit is 17 years as of December 31, 2026, and upper age limit is 25 years as of December 31, 2026.

WBJEE 2026 Eligibility Criteria for B.Tech Admissions

  • Candidates should have passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of listed below subjects as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all three subjects in regular class mode. 
    • Chemistry
    • Biotechnology
    • Biology
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Application
    • Technical Vocational Subject
  • Must have secured a minimum of 45 per cent marks (40 per cent in the case of candidates belonging to reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PwD) in the above three subjects taken together.
  • Candidates should have qualified in English in the Class 12 exam with at least 30 per cent marks.
  • The Board of Qualifying Examination must be recognised by Central Government or State Government concerned.

WBJEE answer key 2026 will be released online. After examination, authorities will first release model WBJEE 2026 answer key. Correct answers to entrance examination will be available through model answer key. To download WBJEE answer key, candidates will have to log in with their application number and password. WBJEEB will accept objections against model answer key of WBJEE. Along with objections, they will also have to submit supporting proof and required fee. Candidates have to pay INR 500 for every objection.
