WBJEE is conducted annually to select candidates for admission into the BTech courses offered by the participating institutes of the state. The WBJEE exam is divided into two papers – Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). Candidates will have to attempt both papers to be eligible for a General Merit Rank (GMR).

Candidates are advised to solve the previous years’ WBJEE question papers since it will help them to clearly understand how the examination will be conducted.

| Marking Scheme | Category I: Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. An incorrect response will yield a loss of ¼ mark For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.

WBJEE 2026 Syllabus
The WBJEE 2026 syllabus consists of topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The level of the syllabus will be similar to the 12th standard qualifying examination. All candidates are advised to be familiar with the syllabus so that they know what has to be studied for the upcoming examination.
WBJEE is held as an offline test. Mathematics will have 75 questions and Physics and Chemistry will have 80 questions each. Total number of questions in WBJEE is 155.
Students can check previous years' WBJEE question papers to check topics and questions that are repeatedly present and have high weightage. These topics can be picked out as important topics and students can focus on them during preparation. Students should make sure that entire syllabus is also covered.
