WBJEE is conducted annually to select candidates for admission into the BTech courses offered by the participating institutes of the state. The WBJEE exam is divided into two papers – Paper 1 (Mathematics) and Paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). Candidates will have to attempt both papers to be eligible for a General Merit Rank (GMR).

Authorities will release WBJEE question paper online. Students can download official question paper to know type of questions that are likely to be present in examination. Previous years' question papers can also be checked to help with preparation process.
WBJEE question paper will have three categories. Category 1 and 2 questions will have only one correct option. Category 3 questions may have one or more correct options.

WBJEE 2026 Exam Pattern
The authorities will release official WBJEE exam pattern online. Through the exam pattern, the candidates will be able to understand how the exam will be held.

| Marking Scheme | Category I: Each correct answer will be awarded one mark. An incorrect response will yield a loss of ¼ mark For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield -1/4 (25% negative) marks.
Category II: Only one option is correct, the correct response yields two marks. An incorrect response will yield -1/2 (25% negative) marks For any combination of responses with more than one option, the said answer will be treated as incorrect and will yield a -1/2 (25% negative) mark.
Category III: One or more options may be correct. Only correct responses will yield 2 (two) marks. There is no negative marking. |
WBJEE 2026 Syllabus
The WBJEE 2026 syllabus consists of topics from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The level of the syllabus will be similar to the 12th standard qualifying examination. All candidates are advised to be familiar with the syllabus so that they know what has to be studied for the upcoming examination.
WBJEE is held as an offline test. Mathematics will have 75 questions and Physics and Chemistry will have 80 questions each. Total number of questions in WBJEE is 155.
Students can check previous years' WBJEE question papers to check topics and questions that are repeatedly present and have high weightage. These topics can be picked out as important topics and students can focus on them during preparation. Students should make sure that entire syllabus is also covered.

According to WBJEE domicile requirement, students should have been staying in West Bengal continously for atleast 10 years, as of admission year. If not, then their parents should be permanent residents of state.
