CUCAT Application Form 2026: Check Registration Date, Fees & How to Apply

CUCAT exam is condcted by the University of Calicut. 

CUCAT exam pattern is released by the University of Calicut.  CUCAT test pattern includes mostly MCQ based questions. Some courses also ask a few descriptive type questions. CUCAT exam happens offline, like pen-and-paper style. 

Official CUCAT 2026 dates are yet to be announced. Exam is most likely to be conducted in May 2026. Online registration is expected to start in March 2026.

Candidates willing to take admission in BTech course through Calicut University Common Admission Test (CUCAT) must have done Class 12 from Kerala State Board or a recognised board in Science stream with Mathematics and Physics and should have secured a minimum of 45% aggregate. Applicants can fill in their choice of exam centre cities while filling the CUCAT application forms. However, it must be noted that the venue, its address and other details will be available on the CUCAT admit card. 

CUCAT 2026 admit card will be published by the Calicut University. Candidates can download their admit card on the official website of the CU once it is released. 

CUCAT 2026 admit card will carry many details. They are name, roll number, CAP ID, phone number, exam centre, course code, exam timing, exam duration, venue, address, photograph, signature, exam name, rules and regulations.

No, CUCAT syllabus is not the same for UG and PG courses. UG syllabus is based on Class 12 level, while PG syllabus is based on the relevant undergraduate subject.

The marking scheme for CUCAT exam is as such that questions vary for different courses. There is no fixed number of questions set per course. For BTech, the number of questions will be different from the number of questions asked in a BA Political Science question paper. There will be negative marking and 1/3 marks will be deducted. The total marks will be 100 marks.

CUCAT is held to offer admission to courses such as Integrated M.A. in Development Studies, Integrated M.Sc. Bioscience, Integrated M.Sc. in Physcis, Integrated M.Sc. in Chemistry, LLM with Double Specialisation, M.A. Arabic Language & Literature, M.A. Comparative Literature, M.A. Economics & M.A. Financial Economics, M.A. English Language & Literature and other Master of Arts, Master of Science, and UG and PG law courses.

CUCAT 2026 admit card is likely to be published approximately one week before the actual exam date. Calicut University will publish the admit cards on its official website.
