Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and The Habitat Emprise (THE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance institutional capacity for integrating climate considerations into urban planning and governance. The agreement was formalized by Prof. Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi, Registrar of JMI, and Dr. Priyanka Kochhar, CEO of THE, representing their respective institutions.

The partnership seeks to tackle critical urban challenges through collaborative research, capacity building, and advocacy for sustainable development. The MoU outlines three key areas of cooperation: first, research and publications, involving joint studies and policy recommendations focused on integrating climate considerations into urban planning; second, capacity building, through tailored training programs and modules for urban professionals and policymakers; and third, advocacy and engagement, aimed at promoting sustainable practices via seminars, workshops, and policy dialogues.
