AILET 2027 Result: Tie-Break Method
To find the AILET merit rank, if two or more students get the same marks in the AILET 2027 exam, NLU Delhi follows a tie-breaking rule. The process used to decide the final rank is explained below in simple steps.
For the BA LLB program
- If two or more candidates score the same marks, the AILET merit will be decided by who has higher marks in the Logical Reasoning section.
- If the tie still continues, the candidate who is older in age will get preference.
- And if it remains unresolved even then, the AILET merit rank will be finalized through a computerized draw of lots.
For AILET PG (LLM) program

AILET 2027 Results & Shortlisting for Counselling
The AILET 2027 result will be released in December 2026 (tentative). After that, NLU Delhi is expected to release first AILET merit list in January 2027. Even though NLU Delhi is a National Law University but it is not a part of the Consortium of NLUs. All the NLUs in India have been granted the status by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Thus, there is no major difference in the courses offered at NLU Delhi as compared to the other National Law Universities. However, the NLU Delhi offers admission to is BA LLB and LLM program through the AILET entrance exam.
The AILET counselling fee of INR 30,000 (INR for reserved category candidates) will be refunded only to candidates who have successfully registered for the counselling and paid the fee but who could not find a place in the merit list. The refund will be initiated by NLU Delhi to the source on completion of the admission process, whichever is earlier.
AILET counselling is conducted in both online & offline mode. The registartion for the counselling will haveto be done by the candidates whose names appear in the AILET merit list which is released on the NLU Delhi official website after the declaration of result. Eligible candidates will have to register for the counselling process and appear at the institute for document verification and fee payment.

No, AILET Entrance Exam cutoff is released separately for the various categories. For instance, the cut-off is available for categories like Open, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PH categories. Note that open category candidates will not be considered for admission under reserved category seats. To be considered for admission under reserved category, the candidate must furnish the required category certificates. The AILET admission process after the results are declared is as mentioned below:

- AILET cutoff: The NLU Delhi will release the AILET cutoff on its official website at the time of seat allotment. The cutoff is the minimum marks/rank that aspirants need to secure in order to get admission to a 5-year LLB or one-year LLB program.

The AILET exam does not have two sections namely, Legal Aptitude and Quantitative Aptitude. Also, the questions asked in CLAT exam are lengthy and time taking, while AILET question paper is considered to be completed within time if practiced well. The CLAT exam has 120 questions, i.e., less in comparison to the AILET which has 150 questions.
NLU Delhi provides admission to its BA LLB and LLM programme based on the AILET scores. However, all other NLUs in the country accept CLAT scores for providing admission to their courses. Candidates can sit for both the entrance exams to expand their scope of admission.
Yes, AILET exam have one section for Current affairs and General Knowledge. The section will be asked for 30 marks and students will be asked questions from Indian and international affairs, Current events, History, Geography, Politics, Economics & General Science.
The AILET UG (BA LLB) exam is overall moderate in difficulty level. The English section is easy, the GK & Current Affairs section is moderate, and the Logical Reasoning is moderate to hard.
Many students feel the AILET exam is a bit tougher than CLAT because it has fewer seats and high competition. The AILET syllabus focuses more on reasoning and legal aptitude. Both tests need good preparation, but AILET 2027 usually has a higher cutoff for AILET colleges under NLU Delhi.
