CLAT Exam 2025: In a significant development for law aspirants across the country, the Delhi High Court has directed the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to revise the CLAT 2025 results following the identification of discrepancies in the final answer key. The direction came during a hearing on a batch of petitions filed by students challenging certain questions in the CLAT 2025 UG exam, citing incorrect answers and unfair marking.
What the Court Said
The bench, while acknowledging the urgency of undergraduate admissions, said the matter required immediate resolution to prevent further disruption in the CLAT 2025 counselling and admission processes. The Consortium’s counsel, Senior Advocate Raj Shekhar Rao, admitted during the hearing that two questions were problematic and agreed with the suggestion by the single-judge bench to discard those questions.
Revised CLAT 2025 Scores and Ranks
As a result of the court’s directive, the CLAT 2025 merit list and CLAT scorecards are set to be revised once again. This revision could lead to:
- Changes in candidate All India Ranks (AIR)
- Revised cut-offs for National Law Universities
- Possible changes in seat allotment during CLAT counselling
- Candidates are advised to re-download their updated scorecards once the Consortium issues the revised results.
CLAT 2025 Counselling and Admission Likely to Be Delayed
The court’s order is expected to further delay the CLAT 2025 counselling process, which had already been put on hold pending the outcome of the hearing. A new counselling schedule is likely to be announced after the revised merit list is published. This has caused uncertainty for thousands of aspirants awaiting admission to top NLUs.
