CUET Marks Vs Percentile
Most students get confused between CUET marks and percentile. Both of them are different concepts. CUET UG marks is the total raw score obtained by a candidate in CUET exam, which is calculated using the NTA-prescribed marking scheme. On the other hand, CUET percentile is a candidate’s performance with respect to other candidates who appeared for the exam in the same session and across different CUET examination sessions.
The CUET percentile depends on various factors, including the number of candidates appeared for exam, subject combination selected by them, and so on. Get an idea of the expected CUET percentile in different marks range based on previous years’ trends.
| CUET Marks Range | Expected Percentile |
|---|---|
| 250 - 235 | 100 |
| 234 - 213 | 99 |
| 212 - 188 | 98 - 97 |
| 187 - 163 | 96 - 95 |
| 162 - 138 | 94 - 93 |
| 137 - 113 | 92 - 90 |
| 112 - 100 | 89 - 84 |
| 99 - 88 | 83 - 80 |
| 87 - 75 | 79 - 75 |
| 74 - 63 | 74 - 70 |
| 62 - 50 | 69 - 55 |

How to Calculate CUET Percentile?
To be fair to all candidates who appeared for Common University Entrance Test in different sessions with different CUET difficulty level in question paper, NTA uses normalization process and convert a candidate's raw scores in percentile. The formula to calculate the CUET Percentile is:
CUET Percentage = (CUET Raw Score/Total Marks)*100
For instance, a student's CUET Raw Score is 680, and he/she applied for B.A. (Hons) in Political Science at Delhi University. According to CUET DU Subject Mapping, "Any one Language from Section I & Any three CUET domain subjects from Section II" is required. As we know, the total marks per subject for Section I and Section II is 250. The total marks in this case would be 1000. Now, the CUET percentage of the student will be:
CUET Percentage = (680/1000)*100 = 68%
