B.E. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2023

It's absolutely worth taking admission to CU.
Placements: 50-60% of students from our batch were placed. The highest package of our batch was 12 lakh per annum and the lowest package was 3.2 lakh per annum. There were some IT companies as well as some core electrical companies, such as High Radius, Cognizant, DCX, LG, and Saint Gobain.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was pretty good for classes, with just one disadvantage: there was no cooling system in class except for fans. Other than that, well-equipped labs and libraries were available. Hostel accommodation was one of the best, with facilities like a gym, indoor sports, and a projector hall in the hostel. The food was pretty good too.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful and well-qualified, highly skilled, and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching was good in our classes, and there was good mentoring. Semester exams were quite difficult, but everything was taught in the classroom, so if you attended classes, you could easily score well.
Other: I opted for electrical engineering because of the opportunities in the government sector and PSUs.

Our Chandigarh University is a NAAC A+ grade university with the best placements.
Placements: In our college, almost 90% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 25 LPA and the average salary package offered is 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies like TATA, Reliance, Cognizant, etc., visit our campus. Almost 80% of students get internships at top companies every year. They get placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our university is very good. The campus is neat and clean. Our labs, classrooms, and library are very good. Three meals are served each day in the hostels. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus. The mess is very good. We have playgrounds for football, cricket, and basketball.
Faculty: Our college faculty members are excellent. All teachers are very friendly. Their teaching quality is very good. Our teachers are well-qualified and knowledgeable. The course syllabus is very relevant and it makes students industry-ready. Every year, we get industrial visits. The semester exams are average.
Other: The campus is very good. Every year, our college organises five events. Many celebrities visit our campus. Chandigarh University has an excellent campus.

I'm utterly dissatisfied with the electrical engineering department.
Placements: There were very low placements in electrical engineering. The electrical engineering department has a total strength of 55 here. The attendance criterion is strict and if you become short of attendance in an exam, the university charges Rs. 10,000 per subject to make you appear again. I personally don't recommend anyone taking admission in electrical engineering. You have to work harder to get a good placement here.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is top-notch. The greenery of the campus and the diversity are plus factors. The Wi-Fi doesn't work in the electrical engineering department, not even in the library. The classroom is not air-conditioned. To be honest, the library is good, but you will find a lot of distractions and gossip happening to students in the library. Books are available in bulk. No shortage of books. Hostels are good and the food is average. The mess and canteen are top-notch. Medical support is also available 24/7. There is enough space and a dedicated playground for sports and games. The hostel is generally 4-5-seater here. A gym facility is also there. There are restrictions on hostelers' ability to go off campus after 8:30 pm. You need to get permission from the wardens and parents for a night out.
Faculty: Teachers are not so qualified in the electrical engineering department. The quality of teaching reminds me of government schools where the teacher just completes the 40 minutes and walks away. They are supportive, by the way. Students are the priority over teachers in this university. Electrical engineering is full of mediocre students in my batch. The semester exam is online for our time due to the pandemic. Students know the way to get away with a theory exam easily. Even the viva exam isn't so hard here. The university just needs 75% attendance. If a student has less than 10% attendance, he or she must pay a fee of 10,000 rupees to reappear. That's where I think the university loots the students. To be honest, the curriculum is good. The layout on which the curriculum work is done is solid. But the implementation lacks something. Students are not groomed as per their career choice. If anyone tries studying IT or software-related things, then there is barely any support in the electrical department for the same. You have to complete the assignments and make sure to attend the lectures even though you are not interested in studying those things. If you are eager to learn or you need any kind of support, you can get it here. The teachers are supportive and the staff are good.

Our university campus has good facilities.
Placements: Around 75% of the students were placed in our course. The highest salary package is above 10 LPA, the lowest salary is 4 LPA, and the average salary package is 6 to 8 LPA. Many top companies came to our college. Above, 75% of students got internships from our college. Less than 75% also got placement in good companies.
Infrastructure: The whole university campus is Wi-Fi enabled, along with the hostels. Every block has its own library. There were a lot of fans in the classrooms but no air conditioners. All the labs provided good facilities with all the equipment. The infrastructure is almost good looking.
Faculty: The teachers at our college were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. There was a huge teaching quantity. This course is relevant because it makes the student industry-ready. The semester exam is not much more difficult than the college pass percentage, which is around 50.
Other: I opted for this course because I wanted to make a flying electric car. The best things about this course are jobs in government and the private sector.

It has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: In our electrical department, about 40% to 50% of students get placed each year. The highest salary package was 4.5 LPA, and the average was around 2.9 LPA. The top recruiting companies are IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Mahindra Susten, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant, and a few others. Internships take place in the third or fourth year.
Infrastructure: Our department block is beautifully structured and is maintained well, with no compromise on cleanliness and hygiene. There are other departments too in our block. The labs are fine, with good Wi-Fi and systems. The library is also efficient and filled with books from all departments and various magazines. I am a day scholar. There are various food courts spread all across the campus with all kinds of stuff.
Faculty: Teachers in our department are very friendly. Some are experienced, others not so much. But they teach well and are always willing to help. The course is well-structured, and it depends on the students how much they can learn. There are various study programs, and industrial training is also done after even semester exams. The difficulty level of exams is balanced. A GPA of less than 4 is considered as failed. Students manage to pass since it's cumulative marking across departments.
Other: I chose this course since I wanted to do engineering and this fitted me well enough. People said it has good scope in the future in government jobs as well. There are a huge number of events going on all across the year, and fests are very well organised. Some celebrities are invited to fests. The campus is quite crowded since it has a huge number of students from all over India and also many foreign students. The surroundings of the campus are clean and well-maintained. They provide scholarships based on 12th or JEE marks. They have an entrance exam called Cucet, which also gives scholarships.
