Time Management Tips for CLAT Exam Preparation

Time management is a very crucial aspect of exam. Every candidate has same time for preparation but some of them excel in the exam while others only manage to score bare minimum marks. It is the time management of the candidate which makes all the difference. Time management has two aspects.

  • Time Management during the preparation
  • Time Management during the CLAT exam

Let us explore each of them

Time Management during the preparation

The candidates are advised to prepare their study plan keeping in mind their affinity and previous knowledge of the subjects. The candidates should assign the highest amount of time to the subject which they feel is difficult. The subject in which they are comfortable, they should assign less time and practice more.

Time Management during the CLAT exam

It is the most important aspect because if the candidates cannot manage time during the exam, they won't be able to attempt the full paper and in that case, the maximum marks they can score will be reduced. One of the main reasons for wasting time in the CLAT paper is getting stuck on one question for more than the assigned time. The candidates should note that there are 120 questions and each question carries equal marks. The total time assigned is 120 minutes. So in ideal conditions, 1 minute will be available to read, understand, solve and mark the answer for 1 question. But some quant and logical reasoning questions cannot be solved in one minute and the candidates remain stuck on such questions for over five minutes.

The candidates are advised not to waste time on one question and spend the time judiciously. The candidates can get detailed tips on Time Management for CLAT 2027.

How to Attempt CLAT Mock Test?

The candidates are advised to attempt the CLAT mock test paper under exam-like conditions. It means the candidates should follow time limits for the paper. They should sit for a stretch of two hours in a row to solve the CLAT mock paper. They should solve the paper dedicatedly in the assigned time without any deviation.
