BSEB 10th Exam Pattern 2026: The Bihar Board prescribed the Bihar Board class 10 exam pattern 2026 for the students. Students can check the BSEB 10th exam pattern 2026 online on the board's website and on this page as well. Bihar board exams will be held for 80 marks for some subjects and 100 marks for other subjects. Students are given extra 15 minutes to read the questions. The question paper is divided into sections.

Students who are preparing prepare for the Bihar Board Matric Exam must check the BSEB Matric exam pattern 2026 in advance and prepare for the exam accordingly. BSEB 10th Exam Pattern 2026

The board has prescribed the BSEB Class 10 exam pattern 2026 for the students. In section A, there are 100 objective-type questions, out of which 50 are to be answered. Each question carries 1 mark. In section B, there are 30 short-answer type questions, out of which any 15 questions are to be answered. Each question will carry 2 marks. There are 8 long-answer type questions, out of which any 4 questions are to be answered. Each question will carry 5 marks. For subjects that carry 80 theory marks, section A will have 80 objective-type questions out of which 40 questions are compulsory. If the candidate answers more than 40 questions, the first 40 answers only will be evaluated. Each question carries 1 mark.

Q:   What are the minimum passing marks for BSEB Class 10 examination?
A: 

To pass the BSEB 10th final test, students should get a minimum of 30% in all individual subjects. However, the students are not required to score a minimum mark in English subject to pass the Bihar Board 10th exams. From the last year, the board is also considering a grace marking scheme for those who obtain 8 marks less than the minimum required marks. For such students, the board has the provision to award a maximum of 8 marks as grace and save them from failing.

Q:   What is the BSEB Board class 10 exam pattern?
A: 

The board prescribes the pattern of Bihar Board class 10 exams. Students can check the exam pattern on the official website of the board. The students can also have an idea about the class 10 exam pattern 2024 Bihar Board through the model paper released by the board. As per the BSEB 12th Exam Pattern, the BSEB class 12 exams will have 50% multiple-choice questions, carrying 1 mark each. Subjects having both theory and practicals will only have 35 MCQs in the theory paper. The total exam duration of the Bihar Board Matric exam is 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Q:   How many marks is required to score distinction in Bihar Board 10th result 2026?

Q:   Will the BSEB 10th exam pattern remain the same as last year?

As of now, the board has not released the BSEB 10th Exam Pattern 2025. However, the board is not expected to make any major change in the Bihar Board Matric exam pattern. In case any changes are made for the academic session 2024-25, we will update the same here as well. In 2023, the board made some changes to the BSEB class 10 exam pattern. As per the exam pattern released in 2023, every subject will now have 50% objective-type questions or MCQ while 50% will have subjective-type questions.

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) releases the Bihar Board 10th exam pattern 2026. It is released in the form of BSEB 10th model paper. BSEB 10th Marking scheme 2026

The students must secure at least 30 marks out of 100 in each subject to be declared 'passed' in BSEB Class 10 examinations. The aggregate marks should equal to at least 150. Given below are the divisions secured by the students if they obtain the specified marks:

  • 1st division is secured by the students who achieve 300 or more marks in total.
  • Students who secure marks between 225 and 300 are awarded second division.

  • 3rd division is awarded to the students who secure marks between 150-225.

  • Students who score marks less than are declared failed students.

Q:   What kind of questions are asked in BSEB class 10 exams?
A: 

The board is yet to announce the BSEB Matric exam pattern for the 2023-24 session. However, based on last year’s exam pattern, two types of questions are asked in Bihar Board 10th exams. These two types of questions are multiple choice questions (MCQ) and Non-MCQs such as short answer type questions and long answer type questions. Total 50 marks are distributed for objective-type questions. On the other hand, theoretical-type questions have a total of 50 marks. To pass the BSEB 10th exams, students need to secure a minimum of 30% in all individual subjects.

Q:   How many MCQs and Non-MCQs are asked in BSEB Matric Exams?
A: 

The Bihar School Examination Board has announced the class 10 exam pattern. A total of 80 cumpulsory MCQs are asked in the exam. On the other hand, a total of 10 non-MCQs are asked in the BSEB class 10 exams.

BSEB class 10th students have to study five compulsory subjects and one optional subject. Students need to pass all five compulsory subjects. Q:   Can I bring a smartwatch to the BSEB Matric exam centre?

No candidates are allowed to carry smartwatches to the BSEB 10th exam centre. Bihar Board prescribes instructions related to BSEB class 10 exams on admit cards. Students need to read all the instructions carefully and adhere to them during exams. As per the exam pattern, no students are allowed to carry Calculator, mobile phone, Bluetooth, whitener, earphones, and other similar items to the exam centre. Students can only carry their exam admit card and a ball pen to the exam hall. Strong actions will be taken against the students who are caught with prohibited items in the exam hall.

Q:   What will be the mode of the Bihar Board Matric exam 2026?

Bihar Board class 10 exams are held in offline mode. The students need to write the exam in pen and paper mode. To write the BSEB matric exam, all the examinees are given two types of answer sheets. The first type of answer copy is an OMR sheet which is for multiple-choice questions. On the other hand, the students are also given blank answer sheets to write non-MCQs. The students are suggested to follow all the instructions related to the exam.
