National Institute of Technology, Calicut, also known as NIT Calicut, is one of the oldest NITs in India and has been ranked 2 under the 'Architecture and Planning' category and 21 under the 'Engineering' category by NIRF 2025. The college offers a wide range of programmes to students, mainly in the Engineering and Technology fields. Further, the college has a decent connection with top-notch companies such as Accenture, ADP, Amazon, Amdocs, Baja Auto, American Express, etc. 

National Institute of Technology, Calicut is one of the top-ranked Architecture institutes in India. The institute has been ranked 3rd in the 'Architecture' category,  25th in the 'Engineering' category, and 76th in the 'Management' category by NIRF Ranking 2024. Talking about the placements, the the highest and average package offered during NIT Calicut placements 2023 stood at INR 50 LPA and INR 13.77 LPA, respectively. Yes, the technology institute offers MSc in Physics as a full-time course. Admission to the course is through IIT JAM followed by CCMN counselling. The seat intake for the course is 25. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility requirements can apply for MBA admission at NIT Calicut. However, the final selection of candidates is based on their scores valid CAT scores. Apart from the entrance test score, candidates will be selected based on performance in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds, Academic Merit (Class 10, Class 12 & Graduation), and Work Experience (if any) as well. Candidates seeking admission to industry-sponsored MBA courses must appear for a Department-level admission test.

JEE Main Registration 2024 session 2 last date was March 4. NTA released JEE Main 2024 Application form session 2 on February 2. JEE Main Application form 2024 session 2 was available online on the official website jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates who have applied for JEE Main 2024 session 1 had not register again. Such candidates only need to fill the paper details (BE/BTech or BArch/BPlan) and pay application fees. JEE Main 2024 registration last date session 2 was March 4.

Bachelor's degree (BCA or equivalent) with a minimum of 60% aggregate is the basic eligibility for the MCA course offered at NIT Calicut. In addition, the aspirant must have passed the qualifying exam from a recognised board. Candidate further must have the UG degree mark sheets and passing certificate as a proof of eligibility while form filling and at the time of admission.

 In order to submit the NIT Calicut MTech application form successfully, candidates will have to pay the required fees. The application fee for OP/EWS/OBC/PwD categories candidates is INR 1,000. In addition, the SC/ST categories need to pay INR 500. Further, the application fee payment can be done through credit card/debit card/net banking.

To apply for PhD admission at NIT Calicut, visit the official website of the institute and submit a duly filled application form online. However, it is mandatory for candidates to have met the basic eligibility, i.e. a master's degree in a relevant discipline and a valid score in the entrance exams accepted by the institute.

NIT Calicut admissions are entirely entrance-based for all its UG & PG courses. Candidates are shortlisted based on their past academic records along with their scores in the respective entrance exams accepted for different courses. Further, the institute also conducts GD and PI rounds for the final selection. Eligible candidates can apply by visiting the official website of the respective entrance exams. However, for MBA, candidates must apply on the official website of NIT Calicut.

No, NIT Calicut does not facilitate direct admission to any of the courses. Admission is entirely based on merit in the national-level exams, including JEE Main,  GATE,  IIT JAM,  CAT,  NIMCET,  UGC NET, etc. Candidates are further required to participate in other selection rounds, such as counselling, written exam, and interview as well, as per the applied course selection criteria.

As per unofficial sources, the total tuition fee of the five-year BArch course offered at NIT Calicut is INR 6.25 lakh. The hostel charges are up to INR 3.41 Lacs and a one-time fee payment of INR 31,500 is also required for admission.
