Why solve sample papers of the NIFT Situation Test?
One of the most effective ways to prepare for the Situation Test is by solving sample and previous years' question papers of NIFT. It is because apart from learning about the paper structure, like what types of questions are asked, marking scheme, and difficulty level, the candidate can benefit in another way. Sample papers are great tools to develop one's problem-solving and time-management abilities.

NIFT Entrance Exam is a "two-tiered process for BDes course admission. The aspirant has to first appear in the written exam - CAT (Creative Ability Test) and GAT (General Ability Test). Shortlisted candidates have to next appear in a NIFT Situation Test. Candidates are shortlisted for the Situation Test on the basis of their performance in the written tests (CAT and GAT). The NIFT 2025 scorecard will contain the qualifying status of the candidate. Candidates who qualify the NIFTEE written exams only can appear in the Situation Test.
To prepare the merit list of NIFT 2025, the weightage given to CAT and GAT exams is 50% and 30%, respectively, and the NIFT Situation Test carries 20% weightage. Every year, the NIFT Situation Test is conducted after the declaration of NIFT results for the written exams are declared.

Q. When will the NIFT 2025 situation test be conducted?
A. The Situation Test for NIFT 2025 will be conducted around March -April 2024; the detailed schedule for the test will be announced soon after the declaration of results for the NIFT 2025 written exams - GAT and CAT.
Q. Who can appear in the NIFT 2025 Situation Test?
A. Candidates will be shortlisted for the NIFT 2025 situation test based on their performance in the written exams, which comprise the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT). Note that it is mandatory for candidates to appear in both the written exams and the Situation Test for admission.
Q. How will candidates be shortlisted for the NIFT 2025 Situation Test?
A. The shortlisting of candidates for the Situation Test will be done of the basis of the performance of the candidate in the GAT and CAT written exams. The list of eligible candidates (or shortlist) will be declared in March 2025, at the time of declaration of NIFT 2025 written exam results.
Q. What is the weightage carried by the Situation Test in the NIFT 2025 entrance exam?
A. The NIFT 2025 situation test carries a weightage of 20%. In comparision, the CAT paper carries 50% weightage, and the GAT paper carries 30% weightage.
Q. What will be the format of the NIFT 2025 situation test?
A. The Situation Test will be condiucted in an offline mode. The Situiation Test will be a hands-on test that will be used to evaluate the abilities of the candidate in material handling and their ability to construct innovative models. The candidate will be given a set of materials using which he/she has to make a model. The situation test will be evaluated on the spot.
