GATE 2019 application forms will be released by IIT Madras on September 1. Know the exam application process on Shiksha.

GATE 2019 application forms will be released by IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Madras on September 1, 2018. Students can apply/register for the exam on the GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System) official website. The last date to submit GATE 2019 application forms is September 21, 2018. However, students can still apply for the exam by paying a late fee of Rs 500 (USD 20 for centres abroad) till October 1, 2018.

Before filling the application form of GATE 2019, candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria defined by IIT Madras to appear in the exam. GATE 2019 exam is scheduled to be conducted on February 2, 3, 9 & 10, 2019. Check GATE 2019 important dates on Shiksha.

Interested students need to follow the given below steps to fill the application process of GATE 2019:

  • GATE 2019 registration through GOAPS: Students will be required to register for GATE 2019 though the GOAPS official website. For this, they need to fill their name, valid email id and mobile number. Once students register with these details, they would receive an enrollment number via SMS and email. Candidates will also receive an OTP on their registered mobile number for verification purposes. At this stage, a password needs to be chosen and set by applicants.
  • Filling of GATE 2019 application form: Now, at this stage candidates will have to enter their personal details, academic details, contact details, GATE 2019 paper they have chosen to appear for, GATE 2019 test centre preference and photo identity proof.
  • Uploading of documents: The third stage involves uploading of scanned photograph, signature and any other required document/s. Ensure that the documents are uploaded in the correct format else the same will not be accepted.

After uploading the documents, applicants should go through the submitted details thoroughly as form correction will not be allowed at a later stage. After reviewing, hit the “Confirm and Submit” button.

  • Application fees payment: After submitting the filled-in details, students will be redirected to the payment gateway web-page. Students can pay the fees online through net banking/debit card/credit card.

One the payment is successfully made, aspirants will be redirected to the GOAPS website.

  • Submission of filled GATE 2019 application form: After successfully paying the application fee of GATE 2019, the application form will be successfully submitted through GOAPS. After this, aspirants can download the filled in application form and print it out for future reference.

GATE 2019 admit cards will be available for download on the official website of the exam from January 4. Students will be able to download and take a print out of GATE 2019 admit cards from the GOAPS website. GATE 2019 results will be declared on March 16.

Candidates need to graduate from BTech at IIT Dhanbad with a minimum GPA of 8.0 or above to qualify for M.Tech admissions without GATE. Only the candidates who clear BTech from IIT Dhanbad are allowed admissions without GATE into M.Tech at II Dhanbad with the aforementioned score.

No, the GATE 2026 has already been concluded for IIT Dhanbad M.Tech admissions. The GATE 2026 registrations are closed in the month of October. Candidates who have appeared for GATE will need to wait for all merit-lists to be revealed.

The PhD admissions to the Institute Assistantship courses at IIT Guwahati require candidates to appear for the GATE or CEED. 

However, PhD admissions to the other categories of PhD courses at IIT Guwahati are not decided on the basis of the aforementioned entrance exams scores.

Bachelor's degree holder from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0 or above can get direct admission in M.Tech programme of IIT Dhanbad without GATE. The respective department reviews such applications and seats for such aspirants are supernumerary.

Yes, you can get M.Tech admission without a GATE  in Bangalore colleges through institute specific entrance exams. The seats are sponsored in IITs and NITS. Private and state universities also offer direct admissions via their own tests or merit.
