Yes, candidates can challenge the GATE answer key online by paying INR 500 per question. Candidates have to provide proper proof for their objections. IIT Roorkee will release the GATE 2025 answer key and open the answer key challenge window in March 2025 (tentative). The answer key will be released in two formats- provisional and final. The GATE provisional answer key can be challenged if the responses are not satisfactory. Once all the objections are addressed and corrected, the concerned authorities will publish the final answer key, which cannot be challenged further. In the GATE official answer key, the “Marks to all” implies that everyone will get the marks for the specific question, regardless of whether they have attempted. This can also be used to calculate the overall score for the test taker. Further, as per some experts, generally after the exam, a panel of experts, which is different from the paper-setting team, will be formed. Then, they will review all the solutions to a particular paper. In some cases, a panel of experts may not agree with the solution or response given by the paper-setting team. Therefore, in such cases, there will be discrepancies between both teams, and so they will mark those questions as MTA, which means marks to all.
