IIT Roorkee MTech Admission 2020: Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee made available the application for admission to it MTech courses in March 20 and the last date to fill the form was April 23.
Candidates must note that the IIT Roorkee MTech admission 2020 will be done on the basis of their GATE scores and admission to 10% of total seats will be reserved for IIT graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10 point scale. IIT Roorkee will prepare a merit list on the basis of scores of GATE qualified candidates and regular BTech degree holders from the IITs.

IIT Roorkee MTech Admission 2020: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates were advised to check the eligibility criteria of IIT Roorkee MTech admission 2020 before filling the application form. Candidates who fail to meet the eligibility criteria will not be allowed admission to IIT Roorkee. Applicants can refer below to know more about the eligibility criteria.
Qualifying Exam:
- Candidates must have passed BE/BTech in relevant fields.
- Final year candidates are also eligible to apply provided they complete all the requirements of their qualifying examination before the date of registration.
- Candidates having AMIE/AMIS/AMIIChE/AMIIM/Grad IETE, who possess BSc or Diploma in engineering and have at least three years research, teaching or other professional experience at the submission of the last date of application acquired in the relevant field, are also eligible to apply for admission to MTech courses
Qualifying Marks:
- Candidates must have secured at least 60% aggregate or CGPA of 6.00 on a 10 point scale in BE/BTech or equivalent examination
- Candidates must have secured at least 55% aggregate or CGPA of 5.50 on a 10 point scale in BE/BTech or equivalent examination
Basis of Admission:
Candidates will be admitted on the basis of GATE scores and 10% of the total seats will be reserved for IIT graduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.00 on a 10 point scale.
IIT Roorkee MTech Admission 2020: Application Form
Candidates were able to fill the application form of IIT Roorkee MTech admissions online till April 23. A candidate could fill only one application form. Candidates were allowed to apply maximum for four departments and give preference for maximum of 13 academic programmes.

IIT Roorkee MTech Admission 2020: Steps to Fill Application Form
Step-1: Registration: In the first step, candidates had to register online by basic details like email Id, mobile number, etc. After successful registration, a registration ID and password will be mailed to candidates’ registered mail id.
Step-2: Filling of Application Form: After this, candidates had to login to the online portal to fill all the required details such as personal, academic and communication details.
Step-3: Payment of Application Fee: After entering all the details, candidates had to pay the application fees (given below) for IIT Roorkee MTech admission 2020 online using debit/credit card or internet banking.
