Check JEE Main 2020 exam pattern in detail

Make revision compulsory

This time must be given to revision. Revision at this stage should be quick and try to cover the syllabus with covering each chapter and important topics that the mentors have suggested. Take help from the short notes that you made during preparation.

Short notes help in revising short forms, formulas and abbreviations. The short notes should be simple and in bulleted points as topics prepared in such a manner is easier to notice and therefore convenient during revision.

Book References

A sound exam preparation largely depends upon selecting the right books for study. The correct approach for those appearing for JEE Main 2020 for the first and second time is to refer a few set of the books and not fall prey to the multitude of books available in the market.

Also read:

Use correct methodology

With the right approach, candidates should be more focused and be consistent in their preparation. Make sure not to break the concentration from the studies. Make sure to follow the timetable religiously, use short notes for all the three subjects, memorize the formulae, develop short cuts and revise each chapter and unit of the syllabus.

Also, take JEE Main 2020 Mock tests regularly to get the overall idea of the actual question paper and learn time management.

Be focused on your goal

Understanding the strength and weaknesses is important during this time. Work and improve weak areas in every possible way. Experts and toppers approach each problem with positivity and correct attitude, which helps them to achieve their goals. Toppers remain focused and stick to their prepared plan until the exam day. They stick to a single system of preparation and have faith in themselves. This helps in gradually building up the confidence level and gearing up to crack any difficult question.

Dos and Don’ts on the JEE Main exam day

Dos

Don’ts

Attempt easy questions first.

Don't start from the question you don't know

Choose sections that have less risk and more gain.

Don’t guess if you have no idea about the concept involved in a question

Carefully scroll through the entire question paper in the first five minutes.

Don't get upset if any section is tough

Keep a check on time while attempting the paper

Don’t be nervous if you find the paper tough, since it is the relative performance that counts. Put your best analytical mind to work, it will take you ahead.

Attempt all numerical based type questions first as there is no negative marking

Key points that determine your JEE rank

  • How well you have mastered all the three subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
  • How much practice you have done on similar levels of questions as asked in JEE Main.
  • How well you have perfected on your timing of solving an objective type question.
  • How much attention you have given to time management & strategy apart from covering your syllabi.
  • How much calm & confident you are when you take up the actual exam

Keep calm and stay healthy

In this pandemic situation, consider your health as a priority along with the studies. Avoid going out and follow social distancing until the situation gets back to normal. Staying at home in the current scenario is the safest option that you have. Take online classes suggested teachers and mentors. Eat healthy and hygienic food and sleep eight hours daily for a healthy body.
