JoSAA round 1 cutoff 2022 - Joint Seat Allocation Authority has released the JOSAA round 1 and 2 cutoff 2022 at josaa.nic.in. The cutoff is released in the form of JoSAA opening and closing rank. As per the trends, there is a drop in JoSAA cutoff 2022 this year. Along with the cutoff, the pass percentage of JEE Advanced 2022 also dropped this year. Last year, the passing percentage of JEE Advanced was 29.54 which dropped to 26.17. There are various factors which determine this drop in JoSAA cutoff like increase in number of seats, qualifying cutoff and others. As per the statistics, the opening rank for IIT Delhi CSE last year was 3 which has dropped to 29 this year. In a similar manner, IIT Kanpur CSE cutoff dropped from 100 to 107 this year. A similar pattern can be seen in JoSAA NIT cutoff this year.

Factors for drop in JoSAA cutoff 2022 

There are various factors which determine the drop in JoSAA cutoff 2022 mentioned below. 

Increase in number of seats: With new institutes coming up, the seats in participating institutes have increased in the past few years. Many institutes also introduced many new courses. In comparison to 10,572 IIT seats in 2016, the total number has now jumped to 16,232 seats.  

JEE Advanced qualification status: The JEE Advanced pass percentage has decreased this year. As per the statistics, a total of 29.54% qualified for the JEE Advanced exam last year, which has now dropped to 26.17%. The rise in competition to secure admissions in IITs and NITs impacted the cutoff marks a lot.

Increase in reserved category students: Every year there is an increase in the number of reserved category candidates appearing for the exam. There is a provision of 15% seats reserved for SC category while 7.5% seats reserved for ST category candidates.

JEE Advanced 2022 qualifying cutoff 

The exam conducting authorities released the JEE Advanced qualifying cutoff along with the declaration of the result. The cutoff of JEE Advanced is released separately for all the categories.  JoSAA seat allotment 2022  

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority has also released the JoSAA seat allotment 2022 for round 1 and 2. Applicants can check the JoSAA seat allotment round 1 and 2 result through their JEE Main application number and password. Candidates allotted seats in the JoSAA round 1 have to round 1 query till September 27.

  • Visit the JoSAA official website - josaa.nic.in. 
  • Click on the direct link to check JoSAA seat allotment. 
  • Enter the JEE application number and password in the required fields. 
  • Check all the details mentioned in the seat allotment letter. 
  • Download JoSAA seat allotment letter for future reference.

No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admission

The JEE Advanced JoSAA counselling dates will be made available on the official website of JoSAA - josaa.nic.in. Usually, the JoSAA counselling registration starts a day after the JEE Advanced result is anniunced. Complete schedule will be available on the official website.

No, one does not have to apply separately at IIT Madras website after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs.
