JoSAA Seat Matrix 2022: The Joint Seat Allocation Authority released the number of seats against each institute. Candidates who are seeking admission through JoSAA 2022 Counselling 2022 can check the category-wise JoSAA Seat Matrix 2022 online on the official website of JoSAA and on this page as well. The seat matrix will help students know about the category-wise number of seats in each participating institute. In the article, we will discuss the JoSAA seat matrix and allotment procedure.

JoSAA has announced the seat allotment result and cuoff for the first round of JoSAA 2022 Counselling on September 23, 2022. Candidates can check the same online on the official website of JoSAA.

JoSAA 2022 Seat Allotment Process

  • JoSAA 2022 Seat Allotment will be purely based on the JEE Main & Advanced merit and choices made by candidates.
  • If a candidate rejects an allotted seat, he/ she will not be allowed to participate in the further rounds of the counselling.
  • After the JoSAA seat allotment, CSAB counselling will take place. The selected candidates must follow the steps given below to participate in JoSAA Counselling:

Step-1: JoSAA Online Application

  • Visit the official website of JoSAA
  • Click on the ‘Registration link’ and fill in all the required details
  • Check all the details carefully before finally submitting the application
  • Make the required payment for JoSAA counselling via challan, debit card or credit card

Step-2: JoSAA Choice Filling

  • After successful registration, fill in choices of colleges and courses as per your preference
  • Choose carefully and according to your rank
  • The choices made will not be changed or altered in any manner once submitted

Step-3: JoSAA Seat Allotment, Document Verification, and Reporting

  • JoSSA seat allotment will be done on the basis of the merit list, the preferences given and reservation norms of institutes.
  • Counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds and so the seat allotment
  • Report at the allotted centre for document verification by the officials and reserve a seat
  • Pay the fee for the seat allotment process in time
  • Any request for admission or fee payment after the last date will not be entertained

JoSAA Counselling: Documents Required

Candidates must report to the allotted institute with all the required documents as listed below. Failing to do so will result in the cancellation of candidature.

  • 3 passport size photographs
  • JEE Main Admit Card
  • JEE Main Rank Card
  • Date of Birth proof
  • Class 10th mark sheet
  • Class 12th mark sheet
  • Migration Certificate
  • Caste Certificate
  • Character certificate issued by the high school
  • Copy of Confirmation Page
  • Provisional JoSAA seat allotment letter

No, your candidature will be rejected as you need to have minimum of 75% in class 12 to be eligible for admisison to the IITs, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs via the JoSAA counselling. Even if you pass JEE Advanced and JEE Main, of you do not have 75% minimum marks in class 12 boards you will no get admission

The JEE Advanced JoSAA counselling dates will be made available on the official website of JoSAA - josaa.nic.in. Usually, the JoSAA counselling registration starts a day after the JEE Advanced result is anniunced. Complete schedule will be available on the official website.

No, one does not have to apply separately at IIT Madras website after JoSAA counselling. This is because the institute follows a common admission process for its BTech course just like the other IITs.
