WBJEE 2024 Merit List
The General Merit Rank (GMR) link will be based on the marks obtained in the entranc exam. During counselling, the candidates will be considered eligible based on their rank in the GMR list. For each category such as SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD/TFW, separate merit lists will be released.
Tie-Breaking Rules for WBJEE Merit List 2024
In case there are two or more candidates who have secured the same scores in WBJEE 2024, the following tie-breaking rules will be followed in the given order:
- Candidates with lesser collective negative marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be given a higher rank.
- If the tie still exists, the candidate with more collective positive marks in Mathematics and Physics will be ranked higher.
- If the tie is still not broken, the candidate with more collective positive marks in Mathematics and Chemistry will be ranked higher.
- If the tie persists, then the candidate with lesser collective negative marks in Mathematics and Physics will be allotted a higher rank.
- If the tie has not been broken, the candidate with lesser collective negative marks in Mathematics and Chemistry will be given a higher rank.
- If the tie still exists, the candidate with more positive marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions will be ranked higher.
- If the tie is yet present, the candidate with more positive marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions will be given a higher rank.
- If the tie is still ongoing, the candidate with more positive marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions will be allotted a higher rank.
- If the tie persists, the candidate with lesser negative marks in Mathematics for only the 2 marks questions will be ranked higher.
- If the tie still exists, the candidate with lesser negative marks in Physics for only the 2 marks questions will be given a higher rank.
- If the tie persists, the candidate with lesser negative marks in Chemistry for only the 2 marks questions will be allotted a higher rank.
- If in case a tie still exists after the application of the above tie-breaking rules, the candidate's date of birth will be taken into consideration. In such cases, the older candidate is considered for admission.
