DU Law Admission Process 2025

Candidates can check details about the DU Law Admission Process below:

  • 3-Year LLB Admission Process (CUET PG Based)

In order to be admitted to the 3-Year LLB course in Delhi University, applicants have to first appear for the CUET PG LLB Exam, which is organised by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The CUET PG Exam Date was March 25, 2025. The test assesses students based on topics like legal reasoning, general awareness, understanding of English, and reasoning skills. Scoring high in this test is imperative since it directly determines a candidate's ranking in the merit list.

Once they get their CUET PG result, the aspirants need to register on the DU PG Admission Portal. At the time of registration, candidates have to provide their personal details, and upload their CUET PG scorecard, academic records, certificates, photo ID proof, and other necessary documents. This process is vital in order to start the centralised admission process.

Then, candidates go through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS - PG) of Delhi University. This is an online system that allocates seats to the candidates based on their scores in CUET, law center preferences (Campus Law Centre, Law Centre-I, or Law Centre-II), and category reservation. The university can publish several merit lists and allotment rounds depending on the available seats and student reactions.

Lastly, shortlisted applicants need to follow through with the document verification and fee payment process to secure their seats. These involve physical or online verification of educational credentials, caste or reservation certificates (if necessary), identity proof, as well as other formal documents.

After verification, applicants are asked to pay the admission fee online to seal their admission to the 3-Year LLB course at Delhi University. Not doing this step within the stipulated time can lead to cancellation of the seat that has been allocated.

  • 5-Year Integrated LLB Admission (CLAT Based)

In order to gain admission in the 5-Year Integrated BA LLB (Hons) or BBA LLB (Hons) courses of Delhi University, the candidates need to start with appearing for the CLAT (Common Law Admission Test). The national-level entrance examination is organised by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). CLAT 2025 was held on December 1, 2025.

CLAT examines students on topics such as English, Current Affairs, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques. It is necessary to have a good All India Rank (AIR) in CLAT because DU shortlists candidates purely on the basis of their CLAT scores for the integrated law courses.

After CLAT results are announced, applicants for admission to DU's 5-Year Law Programs need to register via the DU UG Law Admission Portal. They need to complete the application form, enter accurate academic as well as personal information, upload their CLAT scorecard, and pay the application fees.

After the application process, DU performs the process of seat allocation using its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS-UG). In this phase, candidates are ranked using CLAT AIR and category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, or PwD), and seats are allocated according to this in the available 60 seats each of BA LLB (Hons) and BBA LLB (Hons). More than one round of seat allotment can be held based on vacancy and withdrawals.

The last date to submit the application form is October 31, 2025. It must be noted that the consortium will open the application correction window after that. Sometimes the consortium do extend the last date for registration but it is better to fill the form way before and why to wait.
