1. Revise notes
Studying new topics or even practicing things will not help at this time. All you should focus on is revising formulas, tricks, tips, theories, concepts and your short notes. “This time is for revising short notes. Sit down and recollect what you have already studied” says Ankita.
2. Exam strategy
Finalise your exam strategy. With an exam strategy, you’ll know what to do and how to do it. Many candidates gets baffled in initial minutes of the exam. But if you have a strategy for the exam, things gets sorted and organised. Don’t go around formulating new strategies on the last day. Just revise your existing strategies.
3. Plan-B
Sometimes plans can go bad. Do not get nervous or dumbstruck after encountering surprises in the exam. Rather be prepared for to handle it with a back-up plan. When plan A fails, apply plan B.
4. Section-wise strategy
Though an exam strategy is enough to perform well in the exam, experts say that it is important to be organised in each section as well. You must have a clear idea of when to take up a particular section, how much time to devote to it, and how many questions you must attempt, etc. All these questions might help you make things easier.
5. Learn from your old mocks
Rather than going for new concepts, briefly revisit your old mock tests. Take a look at your mistakes and as they say, learn from your mistakes. Also, do not miss the correctly attempted questions. Take a look at them to revise the steps taken and formulas used. That way, it becomes easier to go through the formula, tricks, as well as mistakes.
6. Stay Relaxed
Don’t worry and stay calm. Do not let your anxiety and stress overcome you a day before your CAT exam. Chill out by doing your favorite things. Try to study less. Take a good sleep and wake up early on the exam day. It is your big day. Enjoy your exam and believe in yourself.
7. Stay organised
Don’t leave anything for the exam day. Get all your things organised a day before. Arrange all the documents and things to carry along you. You must visit your exam centre one day before the exam. Aspirants in forenoon session (9.30 am -12.30 pm) must reach the centre by 7.30 am. While those in afternoon session (3 pm -5.50 pm) have to report by 1 pm.
