SNAP 2017 exam analysis

In 2017, SNAP was conducted in an online mode for the first time. Infographics in the Reasoning section took the test-takers by surprise. Sections like Quants and Verbal were easy, and Data Interpretation was not too calculative. Like every year, SNAP tested test-takers on logic and analytical skills, and speed.

Overall, the exam was not very difficult. Candidates who had clear concepts managed the exam well.

  • Quantitative Ability: The question paper had 2 Data Interpretation sets. As always, arithmetic dominated the paper.
  • Logical Reasoning: LR saw a lot of surprises. Conventional analytical puzzles were not a part of the question paper. Questions from clocks and calendars dominated the section. As mentioned earlier, infographics were a part of the paper, and tested candidates on their interpretation and analytical skills.
  • Verbal Reasoning: These questions were eliminated last year. Candidates could score well in basic blood relations, coding decoding and mathematical operations, input-output based questions.
  • Verbal Ability: This section was dominated by Reading Comprehension. There were 2 lengthy passages comprising 6 questions each. Questions based on synonyms, antonyms, idioms and phrases were from the Norman Lewis. Grammar was basic, but candidates could have got trapped in Parajumbles as they were tricky.
  • Current Affairs: This section saw GK questions from both 2016 and 2017. Personality and Business and Economic Times based questions ruled the section.

The online test was difficult than the offline test which was conducted in 2016. Candidates are advised to go through last year’s sample and question papers to excel in the exam.

Clearing SNAP exam is not the only requirement for admission to SIU MBA admission. Candidates have to also clear the Group Exercise (GE), Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) for selection.

The question papers of all SNAP sessions are not same. In every attempt and slot, candidates get a different set of questions. Sectional break up and marking scheme are the same for all though.

If you miss the registration for these national tests, you might lose a chance to apply here. Each exam has its own schedule for registration, hall tickets, and results. You

Yes, six months are enough to prepare for SNAP exam. Divide six months into two parts; first three months for syllabus coverage and last three months for mock test practice and revision.

Coaching certainly helps in exam preparation better. It provides direction, guidance and discipline. So, if you can't do self study, you should opt for coaching.
