Commonly asked questions
Q:   How many attempts are allowed in SNAP exam?
A:

Every candidate can make three attempts in SNAP exam. The SNAP exam is conducted in three sessions in a gap of one or two weeks. Candidates can mention their number of attempts in the SNAP application form. However, they will have to pay application fee per session. Thus, candidates who are sure of making multiple attempts only then they should apply for multiple sessions as the fee amount is non-refundable.  The scores of best attempt will be taken into consideration for shortlisting of candidates for Group Exercise, Personal Interview and Writing Ability Test.

Ideally candidates must take all three attempts as the difficulty level of the sessions could be different and it may so happen that one session is easy and candidates can score high in that.

Q:   What is the MBA selection criteria through SNAP?
A:

Candidates are selected on the basis of SNAP cut offs for the MBA admission round which consists of Group Exercise (GE), Personal Interview (PI) and Writing Ability Test (WAT). This round is held in February and March after the announcement of SNAP result.

Candidates who clear the GE-PI-WAT round are selected for MBA admission. The parameters for selection also include class 10, 12 and graduation scores, academic profile and work experience. All SIU institutes conduct Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test but individually.

Sectional SNAP cut offs may be evaluated for selection of candidate for Group Exercise, Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview. Scores of every section will be taken into consideration for shortlisting of candidates along with their academic record. Thus, candidates must ensure that they perform well enough in each section of the SNAP exam.

Q:   I did not score well in SNAP 2025, can I appear for SNAP 2026 to improve score?
A:

Yes, you can appear for SNAP 2026. There is no cap on number of attempts in SNAP. One can appear for the exam, any number of times until they get their desired score. However, it is very important to prepare well for SNAP. Only then one can improve score in the subsequent attempt. One should note down their shortcomings in the first attempt and work on them so that they can make up in the second attempt.

SNAP Eligibility Criteria: International Students

Foreign National, Person of Indian Origin (PIO), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and Non-Resident Indian (NRI) candidates are also eligible to apply for SNAP 2025. The SNAP eligibility criteria for international students are mentioned below:

Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
Q:   Do I need to fill three different forms for three SNAP sessions?
A:

No, you don’t need to fill separate forms for separate exam sessions of SNAP. The SNAP registration cum application form has a field, where you can mention the number of attempts you wish to take. It will be recorded and you will be issued separate admit cards for each of your attempt. However, for each SNAP attempt, you will have to pay INR 2250 as exam fees. So, be very careful in deciding the number of attempts as the SNAP exam fee is non-refundable.

The SNAP exam is held in a gap of one week, so when you take the first attempt you get an idea of your preparation and performance. So you can prepare accordingly and take the next two attempts to improve your score. However, our advice will be to first take a decision on the number of exam sessions, then fill the SNAP application form.

Q:   How many cities can an applicant choose in SNAP for test centre allotment?
A:

An applicant can select up to three cities for allotment of test centre in the SNAP application form. The exam authorities will allot the exam centre to candidates in their preferred city. In case, seats are not available in the first preferred city, it will be notified in the form and candidates can select another city. Candidates must select their home city or city of current residence as first preference.

SNAP is conducted in about 84 cities across India. The latest list of SNAP cities has been released along with the SNAP registration form. Every city will have at least one SNAP exam centre to accommodate a minimum of 50 test takers. You can select only one city per exam session. For example, if you want to appear for SNAP exam only once, then you can select only one city.

Q:   What is the ideal number of attempts in SNAP?
A:

SNAP has 3 attempts for all candidates in a particular academic year. For every session, candidates has to pay application fee of INR 2500. The examination body allows candidates to attempt the exam once, twice or thrice – it is up to the candidate to choose the number of attempts. Ideally, two attempts of SNAP should be good as there is not much gap between the sessions, and one doesn't really get a lot of time to prepare for the second attempt to improve score.

No, SNAP is not a mandatory entrance exam to qualify for MBA at Symbiosis International, Pune. In addition to SNAP, candidates can also appear for MAH-CET to qualify for MBA admissions.

Under certain circumstances, Symbiosis International, Pune may also grant direct admission to a candidate.

SNAP candidates are not required to apply separately for all SIU campuses. They can select colleges in the SNAP application form. However, they need to fill the PI-shortlist form separately for whichever colleges they get shortlisted.
